We would like to address the stator stack issue regarding the BRCA/EFRA V21 (not including any ROAR V21 Motors) Motors included in this issue are BRCA/EFRA 13.5 V21 PN 20006, BRCA/EFRA 17.5 V21 PN 20007 & BRCA/EFRA 21.5 V21 PN 20008. Some of the stator stacks on these motors are measuring below the 19.3mm limit set by BRCA/EFRA. We have been investigating the source of this problem for the past week and we have identified the problem, we are still in the process of identifying what batch motors are affected since we know that not all the motors are failing. Out of several R1wurks motors that BRCA/EFRA inspected, including motors inspected for the recent 1/12 EFRA event there has only been 2 motors that failed the stator stack height out of multiple R1 motors inspected. We are aware that there could be more motors that have this issue and this is the reason for this announcement. We will be sending replacement stators for the motor batch that we have identified so far and we will make sure that anyone that’s been affected by this issue will have a replacement stator as soon as possible. At the moment as we are still in the process of deploying this solution, we advise everyone that has the BRCA/EFRA V21 motors listed above to avoid using the said motors at BRCA/EFRA sanctioned events until we have the opportunity to correct this issue. We have directed our factory to expedite this process and as a precaution we will be re-inspecting the replacement stators as soon as they arrive here in California. We will be shipping replacement stators to our distributors. We apologize to everyone affected by this situation, we are working hard to resolve this problem as soon as possible.

To help everyone understand how this happened, please read below.

The BRCA/ EFRA V21 motor has experienced some stators coming loose of the can in the past, to address this the factory added an extra amount of glue to compensate. Although this solution worked to minimize or eliminate the loose issue, this in some occasions accumulated glue on the edge of some stators making some motors impossible to QC and measure properly since the glue is adding to the stack. This in effect caused the said stators above to fail inspection.

To address all our other customers, from our investigation the ROAR (USA) version V21 and JMRCA (JAPAN) line of motors are not affected by this problem. For anyone that has concerns regarding this matter, please message us through our Facebook page or email us at [email protected].

We would also like to sincerely apologize to Jimmy Maddison and Daniel Booker for their motors that failed, we would like to clear their names and we would like everyone to know that both motors that failed is 100% the mistake of R1wurks and not the drivers.
