Its pretty new, so not many have run it in mod yet. I would take your question to the R1 Wurks facebook page and ask there. It gets monitored a lot more than here.

We don't even have the R1 V3's in Australia yet, plenty of willing buyers but $200 product, $5 delivery system I guess!

There is something wrong with my v21 13.5t motor.. 4.9fdr and 35 timing ON the can and got 80celsius after 3min.. Tried to go UP in fdr still 80celsius after 3min..had to stop driving.. This is In blinky. . No drag brake, soft brakes 10k pwm. Nothing special that should cause so much heat. . Tried suggested 4.9fdr and 45 ON can got to 84celsius after 2min..

Will try my old motor tomorrow... R1 is going back to dealer!

4.9fdr is for the new 17.5t motors, not 13.5t.....Try 5.4fdr with 40* timing and let the motor REV.....

Several People at the club has the same v21 motor no one need that high fdr. Normal gearing is around 5fdr with 43 to 45 ON the can... Tried that also... Got to 80celsius around 3min.. There is something wrong here...it revs like crazy already.. .And its stupid fast,
but way to hot.. And drivetrain is brand New and nothing binding

Have you actually used one of these? I guess you haven’t. Our outdoor tracks, we are 4.6-4.7 with 45 timing and I barely come off at 70 Deg C. Anything from 4.8-5.0 would be suited to a carpet track, again depending on what you classify a “small” track.

No he hasn't!!!!!! he's a instigator of sucomable BS of info. Cruises all the threads and knows it all; done it all; smoked it all; and no one ever see him at a race track or large or small events. Hmmmmmmmmmmm

I would put the motor on a motor checker and just confirm the timing setting as well as see what the amp draw is, that will tell you if something is out on the motor.

Just curious. At what voltage? The amps will increase if the battery voltage is higher. In other words, at 8.44 your amp draw might be 4.5 and at 8.34 it might be 4.0.
