Is this 25.5 VTA, F1, or TC?
25.5 VTA/Scale Spec.

4.5 for vta seams to tall, I would assume you'd be 3.6-3.7 depending on track size. I know at Champs this year some drivers were at 3.5-3.6 for vta and if memory serves me correctly that was a hundred foot back stretch. I'm new to R1 but anything over a 3.8 looses a ton of top end an motor appears to be at full revs almost entire race.

For reference, we are running 3.2 - 3.3 with the current Reedy 25.5 motor on a medium size track.

4.5 is 13.5 territory.

I was running 3.6 on a small technical track in VTA meanwhile the Motiv guys were in the 3.8 range. Definitely try gearing it up...

Anyone experiencing fade on the V16 25.5 motor with 12.3mm high torque rotor?

Running 8 minute mains in F1 on a small 80x40 black carpet track. Motor never overheated, always running with a fan. Starts off great the first 3 or 4 minutes, then fade is quite noticeable. Never exceeds 150F. I'm getting fade as much as 3 or 4 tenths off my last 2 minutes versus my first 2 minutes. A bit more than I'd like.... I upgraded to a higher capacity shorty battery too so I know that isn't the issue. Timing about 55 deg on endbell and 3.07 gearing.

What is everyone using to set timing, check amp draw, etc. looking to start doing some motor work and want to get the right equipment.

On that same note, what is a good timing setting for 25.5 TC/VTA and 21.5 TC/USGT. Also amp draw, what am I looking for?

A little setback with planned R1wurks aluminum endbell/timing screws and long aluminum stator screws. There was some issues with the prototypes so they are delayed

What frequency do you set a R1 200 amp ESC for VTA?

You are over geared and over timed and at this point you need to have the rotor checked for strength. I run 3.07 gearing for 200' of full throttle. For carpet 3.6/3.7 is where I would start. 46 degrees of timing

I've never heard of anyone running 3.6/3.7 gearing for F1 in 25.5, even on carpet...

But I will try 46-48 degrees and possibly ~2.8 on my next outing.

I run 88/27 64p for 3.26 with 55* degrees timing on endbell on black carpet and I just won our ROAR Regional race with this combo. I also have fan mounted.
