It's ok and definitely competitive, but it is nothing to write home about vs the newer batches and the 1700 rotor. I can gear up or time up and get a little bit more up front, but having killed 2 rotors already, I have been playing it safe. I tried bumping up to 43-45 degrees and the temps got way too hot too quick. Mind you at N Control, it was 105F outside last week, so this has a lot to do with it, but I have been playing it super safe lately.

By contrast, Toastie and Kemper were close to 50* on timing and about 4.0 on gearing and were at about the same temp. Once you do start pushing it a bit, the temps do seem to climb and the motor fades a bit.
Other than high temps, how does one identify if they have one from the original batch? Mine seems okay temp wise, but we're in Winter over here right now where it's near impossible to overheat any motor (outdoor asphalt).

ahh ok thanks, would explain the 1700 rating then as the rotor sits inside the unit, so is a lot closer to the sensor than it is on the fantom or trinity units, so 1700 is a bit misleading.

From my understanding, the newer ones have slightly lower resistance from better manufacturing process. I know mine was from the original batch because I got it right as they were released.

Any R1 reps that can help me? I've been trying to order a motor and customer service has been less than stellar.

email [email protected] and you should get a response. Sometimes it can be a bit slow, but they should get back to you.

How's the approval going on the 21.5 V16? Just checked the roar list and still not there, roar nationals next week and would like to use the v16.

That's curious as the 13.5, 17.5 and 25,5 are on the Roar list, but I couldn't see the 21.5 either. It is on the BRCA list however.

The BRCA list mentions that the V16 is etched on the sleeve. My V16 doesn't have the etching...

yeah "a bit" slow is what i've experienced. i am always cautioned by how a company treats you BEFORE they have your money.
