Got a question I've been thinking about. I have several C2 motors along with a couple Epic Quad mag motors... Anyways, my question is if you were to put the Quad mag arm in the C2 can it will rotate in reverse, right, because it's wound the other way? The next question is if you then hook up the the positive and neg wires reversed is the motor now running negative timing?

After we wind, balance & epoxy the armature we then put that particular type of arm back into the corresponding type of teardown.....No mixing and matching of other manufactures components.

Curtis,
mmm still not convinced, are you saying that all armature blanks are the same accross all manufacturers

From your shop re replacement armatures:

Our replacement armatures come with a standard size commutator and will fit any all of these motors:

Top V2, Core
Epic - All D-Series motors, All Speed Gem Series Motors
Reedy - Ti, PT, Flash Point
Corally
LRP
Yokomo Zero
Atlas
Echo

I read that as you only winding 3 types of armatures (RPM, Torque and UL), that are non brand specific. Im Just trying to ensure that i have everything straight if/when i am confronted at scrutineering. Thanks in advance

Reversing the + and - wires would then result in the proper rotation (CCW), and also the proper timing orientation (advanced rather than retarded)….

Look at it from a different perspective…. Simply turn the end-bell the opposite direction of the spinning armature to increase timing…Example: On a motor that has a counter clock wise (CCW) rotation to advance the timing turn the end-bell to the right, for a motor that spins clock wise (CW, witch is a reverse rotating motor) advance the timing to the left…

All of our motors used in the RC industry rotate CCW; therefore all of the end-bells will be advanced to the right of the zero degree timing mark…

All of our replacement armature sold will "Fit" in the above-mentioned cans. However the EPIC arms are the ones you need to look out for when scrutineering is a concern. The Epic arms are the ones with the little tiny groove running the length of the armature. These arms are only considered legal when used in Epic cans for those meetings that actually tech the motors, otherwise there should be no concern at a club level race....

Kool so now we are getting somewhere, so a DC arm in an epic can is illegal for sanctioned events.

How does this then work for Orion, Reedy etc motors?

I dont think you see the whole picture here. I think you just see what you want to see.
curtis said that the teardowns come with a BLANK ARM. whick means he winds that arm in either a rpm style or a torque style or he sends out the blank to be machined so he can wind the ultra light style.

When someone orders a replacement arm Curtis just dosent reach into his bag of tricks and pulls out any old arm. he contacts the customer to see what type of can they have so he can get out the correct arm to that person.

I see your posts as like you are trying to just make waves. WHATS the DEAL ???

So Besercoe, why do you keep referring to a "DC Arm", what do you mean by this? Because so far you haven't been picking up what I've been laying down.... Perhaps a visual aide would help?

Curtis and Howard, thanks for the cryptic and hollow replies, sorry i bothered, i was just trying to make sure the motors are legal for the rules under which we race, and also to ensure that your Aussie importer is not stuck with a load of motors that cant be used at any sanctioned events.
