Curtis,

What do ya recommend? Ultra light or non-ultra light arms in 6-7 turn motors? And why?

Curtis,

Here's a (low quality) pic of a typical track we use here:

http://www.sportsgalleri.dk/uploads/photos/3610.JPG

It's carpet, technical and with a 30 meter (aprox. 120 feet) straight. In general, a short track. Requires plenty of acceleration. We use rubber tires. Our outdoor tracks are a little bigger, but not much.

The arms will be in either the Checkpoint or the Revolution can. Haven't run any of these motors yet, so yet to know which one is the "best".

Nice Track!!!

Rubber tire carpet: You shouldn't have a problem running a 7 turn UL armature in a V2 can, we've run this combo before and it works great.... Start with 12* of timing, and a FDR around 9.75.... As for the 6 turn, well I'm not sure, form the pictures it appears the layout is very open, which will suite the power band of the 6 turn just fine (excellent mid range acceleration). I'd recommend a full stack armature over UL when dealing with 6 turns, from my experience 6 turns have less bottom-end torque than a 7, and the UL arms have even less bottom-end torque (but more mid range acceleration) than a standard 5mm blank....
I haven't had a chance to do much testing with the UL armatures in CP motors, so at this time I cannot give out accurate advice....

Hope this answers your question.

Thanks Curtis

I need all the help chosing the right motor for next year since the 12T rule disappears.

Gimme a note on how the CP motors work with the UL arms in it, will ya? I've read in RCCA that the CP motor has insane RPM as standard. With UL arms, I'm a bit worried that all the torque will be gone.
