Great job at the Vegas Champs guy's.

Good run for me this weekend. TQ/1st in stock and 2nd/2nd in 19t. 19t had the closest race the whole time. Top 3 ran no more that 2 tenths apart the whole race.

Next weekend region 11 ROAR championships. At Peel-it raceway. Home of the Br00d.

Mr. Jolly,

Actually Peter did not win this time, Peter did TQ two out of the three classes that he entered and made the main in the other as well. Just not his day I guess.

Steve

Nice Week for you as well Jason, Good job!

can someone shed some light on a question i have. using a LCR how do test an armature and what numbers do you look for to find the better one. i know that using a dyno and track times are the best way, but i have heard this and am curious on how it works.

thanx to all in advance

Default inductance measurement

Kerry,

Big Jim explained it best on his forums. Specifically here. "to measure inductance properly in our motors, you should go through a dedicated endbell with brushes. One contact must touch two comm plates at the same time and the other contact must touch just one comm plate like brushes do"

Do a search for LCR on Jim's site and you'll get a ton of info

The link just posted is a good source on how to do it. The biggest issue is that you need to make sure you have the same endbell and brushes always, as if you don't, it becomes a variable, which will make the reading not comparable.

Often, the inductance rarely shows if its going to be a good motor. No harm in checking it, but there are other variables in the process that have a much more pronounced effect on motor performance....and a negative in any of these will more than likely offset any benefit you got from a better inductance reading...

I no longer even bring my LCR to races.....simply not worth the time.

Just a quick question, what is the size of the screws that fit the holes on the heatsinks of the br00d cobalt motors?

I assumed they were metric but tried 2 , 2.5 and 3mm and none will screw in.

I'm trying to mount a fan to blow onto the brush hoods.

Thanks............

In the next few days.....I will be adding our IB3800 cells....

These things are nuts....1.17+ voltages at 35 amps....with them peaking, at check this 1.20 at 35 amps.....keep in mind, you add about .015 volts to get numbers comparable numbers to a 30 amp pack.....so a 1.17 will end up around a 1.185....

Our new batch of GP3700 cells are coming in.....all 1.18x or better....

All these will be at first come, first serve....

Peter Robinson used IB3800 cells to TQ Stock Foam and Stock 1/12th Scale at the Las Vegas race.....these cells are the REAL deal.

Default Battery Box

Hey guys we will be posting Team Br00d's new battery box later today, we just have to take a decent picture of it before we can post it. It looks really nice. We will most likely have an outer box made for you to put your packs into kinda like the team Much More box version 1. We were thinking that the outer box would fit 6 packs or possibly 7. How does that sound any of you guys have an opinion one way or the other?
