Copper rotor? Maybe start same and go up/down from there. If EA set timing for that application leave it alone and just adjust gearing for best times. Monitor temps but these things generally run really strong and really cool. My new 17.5 cert in TC with copper rotor after a 6 minute main was only 120 degrees with a fan and no fade. They are really strong.

TEP1119 copper rotor
Timing just a smidge below 50

I'll start with the same gearing.

Should I start with the same gearing or do the Trinity motors generally like a higher/lower FDR?
At Roar Nats I ran 51 degrees timing and 3.8 fdr

On a track thats 80 x 60 with black carpet whats a good setting for timing to start for with a 17.5 with the copper rotor being run in a 1/12 scale.

I cannot say enough how GREAT the customer service is @ Trinity.
Kevin, always takes care of any concerns or issues. I am not a Team driver, just a regular customer.
Monster Max is a GREAT motor and they have GREAT customer service to back it up.

It is amazing how much Trinity wants their customers to do well. Kevin and Adam are a wealth of information and always willing to listen and offer help. Maybe its RC's best kept secret but the Monster Max is killing it in 17.5 and 21.5. I have owned Many different brands, but nothing was able to stay fast deep into a run as the Monster Max. Set it at 50 on the can, gear accordingly race and the smiles will soon follow.

My 13.5 Monster Max arrived today, looks like it came with the copper rotor despite the store advertising it with the turquoise rotor. This'll be going into my 1S 12th scale. Any advice on timing and rollout for an outdoor asphalt track? Back straight is probably ~45m (~150ft).

Is it normal for monster max timing endbells to want to shift? I ran my new 21.5 today for first time and timing came set at 51. After first practice run, I noticed car wasn't very fast so I pulled it off, timing was down to 10. I noticed I really had to hulk down on the screws to keep this from happening. If I didn't, the timing would slowly move throughout the run.
