For the new Orion 19T, is there a reason why the brushes aren't soldered on like normal?

Yes because you cant buy the brushes without the eyelets on them and if you cut them off to solder the shunts are too short to be able to get the brush back out without chipping the edges.

There is not enough of a difference in performance to worry about it either. The eyelets are part of the reason the brushes are so expensive as well.

I bought some tire traction (Ragu marinade combo) from you guys and I cleaned the tire first with the cleaner per instructions - how should the traction compound be applied if you aren't running a tire warmer between heats? Should I just apply and clean it with the cleaner again before the heat starts or should I wipe off the excess?

If I dont' use a warmer to bake it on, am I better off using paragon for traction instead? This is on a low grip asphalt parking lot race - CS27

Thanks!

If you dont have tire warmers then use the cleaner and then the marinade and let the marinade set on the tires about 30 minutes. Then wipe them off and put a very fine spray of cleaner back on the tire and rub it in. It should dry pretty fast like that and leave the tires slightly tacky. It works a lot better if you can bake the marinade in though.

Paragon tends to make rubber tires overheat fast on asphalt. It starts off good but fades bad towards the end.

I haven't tried the Orion yet, Had a small turnout for 19T. One of my fellow racers bought one of the motors, so I should know how they do at the next race. I did burn up one of my Komodos from last year. (It was a good motor *sigh*)

I just bought myself a 1/12th scale. Since I'm normally an off-road guy, anybody have any resources I can goto for the class?
