What performance difference do you get by using the brush jig on your site? What spring combo do you recommend when using F brushes in a CO27 on a tight carpet track? Also what gearing/rollout would you start at for a CO27? I am running a T2 on a tight carpet track

Default CO27

I have been running the C0 27 with purple springs and a vertical slot in the middle of the F brush. Racing on a small Dirt Oval (110race line) and having great results.

Thanks to Eric for the support.

Eric- Team Drivers: Going top be running some stock truck at an upcoming large event and want to get your thoughts on which stocker to run and what setup do offroaders like? I have some EA Monsters and a New CO27. Just getting setup for the big event.

Thanks

For the KD's we run F's, 767's or XXX brushes. Red/Purple springs. The brush selection depends on car and driver. If the car is not very good or the driver hits a lot of stuff then we go to XXX brushes to keep from burning them up and falling off.

C027 we run F brushes and Red/red on the springs. Most of the time full face brushes but at times will take .010 off the brush....depending on track conditions and driver preference.

Start the KD at around a 1.10 roll out and the C027 around a 1.12-1.15.

A hole in the face of the brush will give more pressure in the center of the brush on the comm. When you run a larger hole you will generally need to go down on the spring tension just a little. F brushes with a full face and large hole work well and sometimes .010 off the trailing edge. On a tight track I would start around a 1.10 rollout.

For the motor setup on a tight track I would run F brush, .010 off the trailing edge and a large hole. Red/red springs. Larger track I would run a full face with purple/red springs and go up 1-2 teeth.

Hi Jeff,

For offroad I am not really sure on setup as I dont race it much....But I would run F brushes or 767's and red/purple springs. Its all pretty much the same setup for all 6 cell classes. Oval and 12th scale is really the only setup differences and its springs.

What spring combo would you run on a CO27 with a full face F brush without the hole?

Jeff I've been running EA's motors all season here. THe CO27 on the 2 smaller more technical tracks. Monsters on the larger tracks. They have performed excellent. What truck are you running? I run a 16 tooth pinion with the stock spur on my T4 with the Monster. With the CO27 I run a 18 tooth pinion with the stock spur.

Batteries are the key in stock offroad. If you have good batteries and EA motors you'll be fast!

Let us know how you do.

I would start with red's. IF the bite is really high then go purple/red. The excessive load will cause the motor to arch more and is the reason to go stiffer on the springs.

If you have a chance check your e-mail @bellsouth, requesting information.

Good Luck to all of the Drivers that are attending this years Halloween Classic.
