Yeah, what he said!

(the faster drivers dont lose as much speed in the corners so they can gear more for straightline speed while us mortals need a little help out of the corners) notice these statements are all relative.

find attached a spreadsheet (in a zip file) it is designed to print out a sheet for a spur gear. you need to adjust the spur size for your situation. also notice at the top there is a maximum and minimum number of teeth. for a given pod and motor(some motors have beveled edges which make a difference) there will be a maximum forward and rearward position for the motor. these positions correspond to the max and min number of teeth that will fit (total number of teeth is pinion + spur) the purpose of this to keep track of what the max and min size pinion possible is. if you compare to other cars, you will notice that the op12 has a pretty wide range possible, but as pointed out pinion/spur combination towards the larger end is preferred.

i prefer to print out 1 sheet for each spur gear size i have and keep them handy. this spreadsheet is a modified version of one that CarbonJoe posted some time ago.
Nice! This spreadsheet is a keeper. Glad the original was useful to someone.

Default OP12C.1

On-Point Racing is proud to release their second generation 12th scale conversion, the OP12C.1. Already it has won the Super Stock class at the US Indoor Champs last month driven by designer/owner Paul Ciccarello. We believe the changes made in chassis flex and shock position have made the car generate higher corner speeds with out giving up driveability. Available now!

To upgrade to the C.1. You need OP308.1 for the chassis and shock top plate. Also OP510 for the top plate for the pod and shock mount.

fyi, Stormer has the top plate listed as 310.

maybe a picture with electronics installed would help visualize what is going on with the 308.1 change?

OK thanks. I will have them change that.

The difference are the top deck for the shock mounts narrower towards the servo for more chassis flex. The top plate for the pod and graphite shock mount are different to allow the shock to be mounted forward.

Unless you had the 2 cars side by side you would not know the difference. Below is the old and new car. Old car is orange, new car is black.

Ran my C.1 today at The Gate. Definitely love the car. More corner speed than the OP12C. Great steering, very stable. With a little more work on my part the car will be absolutely DIALED!
