Did you hear that Gary, Ceramics for oval cars A few people still run them.
Frank, I have always ran KSG, but I got one of the new 05 Maverick's, It is a very nice piece. I haven't got to run it yet, but I have heard good things from the people who have so far.

Default oval

The KSG is a good proven car. I seen the 05 mav a couple weeks ago & it looks pretty sweet. Jake & Brad did a good job with the design. There are so many good oval cars out now, they are all fast in the right hands.

I caught up to 2nd place by th end. 2 turns away from first. Oh, well, I clearly had the quickest car, but it was a good day. I proved a point, in the mist of X-rays, they dont always win.... Happy enough with TQ from the 1st minute to the end. I complained to the owner of HC, that the grid wasnt spread enough, and he will correct this for the regionals. You guys are going to like the current layout, FAST!....10.5 sec laps... plus 10ft lane in frt of the stand as a buffer, nice. He did a good job on this one.
TTYL.
BTW, Gary I havent been able to get on the forum still....????
Nice, Raul!! Are you going to HC on saturday?

Default Oval ?

Frank, heres one for ya . . .

We don't race much carpet here in FL, but did have a track for a short time last summer. The track had CRC ozite, the same stuff they're using at the Birds. The majority of setups I see for stock carpet, show guys running white rears (TRC or JACO), where I always seem to end up running blacks. Is there something with running whites that would be better in stock? I was able to go out with new tires and no compound and the car was dialed. Also some guys were running pinks and purples. What do you recommend?

I always had good luck running white rears in stock. I have been running at Halo Hobbies in Toledo which has the same carpet as the birds. I have been running mod but we got my bro's stock ride really hooked up, he TQ'd the snowbird warm up race there by a lap over a stout crowd. We run for TM so the tire set up might not be exactly the same but here ya go.
RF=purple
LF=grey
RR=G4,... Its a white tire with a 3/8" grey band on the outside
LR=white
Use Paragon on your tires, only dope your inside half of your RF, dope the rest full. Too avoid getting them gummed up clean them every couple runs with rubbing alcohol.

So if I'm reading this right, not only are you running a softer compound in the rear, but the G4 sounds like it would have more side bite with the grey strip on the outside. The ultimate effect it seems that you would be driving much harder off the corners then I, although my setup might actually be a tad more free.

Is that about the size of it?

The G4 has a little less side bite than a white to prevent traction roll, any time you see a suspension working on a oval car its scrubing speed & slow. In stock you want the car to be stuck & flat through the corner. We have tried blacks & pinks but always end up back with whites & greys on the rear.

So if I was to run a TRC white RR with super glue on the outside edge, would that be somewhat equivalent to a G4? I don't like mixing different brands of tires.

If TRC has a tire that is slightly more firm than a white like 5 or 10 on a durometer and in the same tire family as a white thats what I would run on the RR. The super glue trick doesn't do alot on a stock car.

I just checked TRC's web site, I would run a grey RR & a white LR.
