No problemo
i`ll be in touch in a while

The intellect cells won`t be legal in the uk to race with ,they have missed the submission date but the Vtec cells will be from LRP

Q) are you messing around with both or just the intellect cells??
I will get some to try this year for next season

I sent a pm to ask about the lrp cells the other day. Still waiting to get some information back. I reviewed the spec sheet and I have to say, they look promising.

As I understand it, the gp3700, the intellect 3600, and the lrp 3700 are all being released in a very short period of time. That along with the fact the gp3300 cell is apparently the only one that is going to be legal in the US for racing for quite a while makes for a difficult and confusing choice as what brands we should carry.

Heya Guys.

Well just thought i'd pop up in here again,

At this stage we are in the same boat as the US guys as far as legal cells goes.

The GP3300 is the cells to have at least until late this year when all the major meets are almost over. I can't run any new cell at a major race till jan 1st 2006. :'(

It's pretty difficult that we cant pick up a new cell mid year and race it in ROAR events. It makes sense though. Some of you probably remember the "cell of the month" erra when you had to get new batteries all the time to keep up.

I would hate to buy a bunch of intellect cells then find out in February that the LRP cells are better and have to get them to keep up.

However, GP having a monopoly on the market and charging whatever they want isn't good either. Next year we should have a couple of other good cells to choose from and the competition could save us all money.

I plan to pick up some Intellect packs just to use in practice and such during 2005 so that I can practice with a high voltage pack and save the legal GP packs with good voltage for the race. Should save me money in the long run instead of abusing my more expensive but legal GP packs.

Plus... I can always use the IB packs in non-ROAR events if I wish.

Gary, you should bring some of the new stuff to Dirtrunners. Our rules are that as long as anyone can get them then they are OK. You never know they may be the hot ticket for our tight track??? See you on the 5th..........WAYNE

Does that include lipo's?

The gp's are great, now that would mean the new intelects are greater, right?

Either way, sounds like we will get to have some fun.

In short, all the oval guys in the state of Florida right now are trying to get the east coast and west coast on the same page as far as what cells will be allowed. Most want to see the it go the way ROAR has decided which is nothing new until 2006 (if I heard correctly).

Our on-road state series, which crowns the state champs over a 7 race series also is guided by ROAR rules and I imagine they will also stick with the ruling as well. The big "local" tracks like to follow ROAR as a guideline too.

So, this may not leave a lot of room for the "real" racing core in the state to use anything other than the 3300's.

I haven't heard what the off-road state series will allow for this year.

Personally, i think the gp3300 cells are fine, and should be used for the remainder of the year as a cap at the larger events.

I'm going to flood DR the latest and greats cells, Wayne. The super low IR the intellects have are going to help rip me those track records to shreds!!

BoB I think you make a good point. I agree I think it's time another company shook up the battery market a bit - I mean GP bumped up the price of the 3300 cell just a few months ago, and while I haven't received the new pricing on the 3700's I expect them to be even higher. It's nice to see smaller companies like IB come in and offer a cell that has better performance and a lower price. Even if it doesn't make a huge dent in the battery market this year, next year will likely be a whole different story.

t's really going to be hard to decide what type of cells to buy or for us, match. Geesh, GP3300, GP3700, IB3600, OR VTEC3700. The thought of having to deal with 2 or 3 different types of cells makes my head spin.

One things is for certain -- It's going to be a tough year for both racers and battery matching companies.

Anyone else have any opinions -- What do the rest of you plan to do when all these new cells hit the market?
