Thanks John for the update. I thought the race was Saturday.

Totally unlike Jr to be having a day like that. I can't recall that happening to him in a very long time. I'm sure he will be on track Sunday for the big show!!!!!!!

Thanks for the update.

Default Regionals

WOW, all I can say to anyone on the team or wish to be on the team. This weekend made me feel nice to see the help that was given. Jon Williams decided not to race Sunday for the big race and to devote his time to helping the other drivers. Between batteries and the motors he was building. POWER!!

We had 4 Team Surge drivers in the main for 1/10 stock, with Punky leading the charge qualifing 4th, me 5th, JR I think was 6th, and new driver Mike Mulham(sp). Main was kinda brutial at least on my part but we ended with Mulham 5th, me 6th, Punky 7th, and JR 10th. All in all a good showing for Surge, we had the power, motors, batteries.

Post Regionals

PHEW! You said it, Tim. You and Punky were *rocking*. We discovered even more tricks with our cells and Tag and I are getting on the scent now with motors.

Let me say, Punkboy was absolutely RIPPING! You should've seen that boy ripping down the frontstretch in the main. That kid's motor was screaming. Now, if Punky could just keep a little cleaner in traffic he would contended for the top 3. As it was I was really proud of the Surge boys. I mean, 4 of the 10 in the A--it was cool to see all the new shirts lined up.

Mike Mulherin was also sick fast in 12th mod--90 seconds left on the GFX after his main. We gonna have a little talk with our 12th scale boys about proper motor setup for 8 minute. Think efficiency guys, not raw HP like touring.

On another note, Mike Collins finished second behind Cyrul in mod touring at the Nats. Said the cells were rocking! Nice job, Mike.

For you guys who dont know him Mike Mulherin is Silly fast. He is one of the best 1/12th scalers out there. I believe the only thing holding him from a national title is his work schedule. He is the real deal!!!!

12th mod...that is some fun stuff. On a smaller track there is never an issue with runtime, but try it out on a big track like i am acustomed to. I got to race mod 12th this past sunday in a club race, and was able to go a lap faster then the TQ/ Winner of our regional.

Its tricky to get just the right combo of power / efficiency. I ended up running an 11x1 motor. Had a 7 in there during practice, but there was no need for the extra power.

Anyways, glad to hear you all did well, cant wait to meet up at Cleaveland in a few weeks.

Is anyone doing the warmup race at Madness on the 14th? It may not be as good as the one out there, but there will be a few very fast guys there im sure.

Jon & John- Are you guys going to run at Cleaveland, or just do the motor/battery thing?

Mikey, John is going to run for sure, but I plan on devoting my time to motors and batteries. After our success HP wise this weekend, I'm confident we can get some HP for Cleveland.

Gonna send out some 'spam' (as Tag calls my heart-to-heart messages to the team) to you guys today re: Cleveland.

Hey Mike H, Once again, Great run. Thought I seen it all at the Roar Regionals, then you go and lay down a track record for Mod 1/12 Scale.......37 Laps...........Oh Yeah baby!..........Simply awesome!...........You made it look so easy.

Good Luck at Madness this weekend. Not sure if I'm going yet.

See you at South Shore this Friday!

This is how i care for my packs, and they have just gotten better over time:

6 amp charge
30 amp discharge down to .9 per cell after run
throw it on a dischagre tray and equilize to .9 a cell
leave in battery case untill next cycle
eqilize to .9 per cell again before charge

Very simple, and very effective.
