I'm 29/70 in my Serpent buggy

That's with the 2.43 internal ratio, so 5.865 FDR

I'm about 1mm past the last timing mark

5min heat, i'm usually 110-115 on motor temp. Sure maybe I could gear up/timing up and get it hotter but I haven't seen an improvement in times with MY driving style on MY track (disclaimer )

Same track/layout as the Spektrum off-road race

This has been on the ROAR website for quite a while now:

I just picked up an ORCA 17.5 TX to use in blinky 17.5 TC and I need a gearing and timing start point for a small technical carpet track.

Thanks in advance.

Looking for -

OTR15MSH (modified rotor)

and

OTR125SN (stock 12.5 rotor)
I have tried looking for a rotor for the RX2 motor and I also could not find them anywhere except at About RC or Much Hobby. But both did not have any in stock. Seems like getting one of the optional rotors for Orca motors is almost impossible.

Last we were told you worked for ROAR for 3 weeks and quit and have not gotten anyone to replace you yet or for testing speedo's. I will make sure we get them sent right out to you now.

Thanks

I was asked by ROAR to be technical director, and I served as a volunteer for one month, until I decided I could contribute more to the hobby in other ways. Rob King stepped in as technical director.

When I later found out that ROAR still had not commenced ESC testing, I then offered my services. I have been doing ESC testing for two months now.

Thanks Howard for your services. Its been longer than that when we tried to submit it and told they had no one and would let us know.

Already contacted ORCA and speedos will be sent out ASAP for you.

Thanks again!

2mm past the last timing notch (approx 55*) and a 3.7X is the general starting point. If the track is really technical start at a 3.85 or 3.9 and check temps! I've gone down to a 3.64 with the same timing on flowing layouts without overheating. The motors are really stout so as long as you experiment within this range it should be fine.

What size is the track and do you run a fan? I'm geared at 3.72 with 2mm past last mark and I don't go above 140*. Our track is 96x40ish with some pretty tight spots. This is in my 17.5 sedan.

36X60 I think some would classify our grip as medium amount the picture is when the layout first was put down also my car is FREE I made sure of that I did mess with the rotor shimming seem to give me a bit more power without increasing the heat, although i did hear running drag brake will increase the motor temp i run about 50% drag brake with the tekin, i was going to take it out and change my driving style to just use the brake... not an ideal choice but it should go around the corner faster haha
