Just a thanks to Wayne and John, the new motors and batteries are awesome.. i had no horsepower issues at all last weekend at the Cleveland event. Top notch stuff here guys.. everyone always asks if the "motor of the week" is worth the money and i normally say no since i cant tell a real difference. That is not the case here ! These new 17.5's in 12th scale are just plain badass... these are way closer to the old 13.5's than the old 17.5's. If your on a budget and only getting 1 motor this year no doubt this is the one to have.

Ahh the anticipation, hoping to get mine before my big local race Jan 4-8. Communication has been great, just the waiting is killing me lol. Also a couple questions regarding gearing/fdr, ill be switching from a R1 v11 in my TC (AMX 800) I am running a fdr or 3.68 not sure of timing as I have always tuned my motors for amp draw. and in my 12th (crc wc) with a 13.5 V9 I have been rolling out around 80.5-82. will this transfer over to the new team screams or should I be moving in a different direction with gearing? I run on a 96 by 48 track with the new crc black carpet, so traction is always on the high side of the scale.

I would start with a 4.0@48° and work from there if it's a flowing layout ,but if it's tighter go with a 4.15@ 48° and play with timing if temps allow you . But being a clean driver will affect temp more than anything so keep it in check

Talking about timing . I really want to do a video on how to do a teardown and rebuild in tech .
Also how to adjust timing after going thru tech without affecting there marks ... I seen guys at Cleveland champs take 20 min to tech one motor . I was able to tech 4 in 10 min . But it does become necessary to own a motorlizer or Gforce tester doing it my way . I'll try to offer up a video this week on YouTube addressing both

What's the story on batteries? Looking to pick up a couple packs for 17.5 edm and for mod sprint. Also, have the mod motors been changed any?

The mod motors are still the same as last years and the year before

As for batteries, alot of guys are running the 5000/6000mah packs, just for weight reasons and balancing cars. If you have no weight issues or have to worry about balance the 7600's #'s have looked good.

For TC guys are running closer to 4.0 to 4.1 and even 4.2 FDR's. At the Indoor Champs that seemed to work well with timing from 44 to 46* on the motolyser. Some guys like the feel of the higher timing and smaller pinion, it's all a matter of preference and driving style. Overall lap times were very similar.

For 1/12 82 to 84 is a good starting point with 39* on the motolyser.

[QUOTE=sg1;14757226]The mod motors are still the same as last years and the year before

when you say the motors are the same the last 2 yrs are you referring to can style or internals as well?? I would think the internals would be different according to newer technology??

Default TS Service

Sunday at the Indoor Champs I was having concerns about the motor in my 17.5 12th scale. About 3 hours before my main was scheduled to start I stopped by the TS area, introduced myself to Wayne, explained that I thought I might be having a sensor board issue & asked if he could take a look...this was about 3 hours before his main too.

20 minutes later, Wayne finds me (on the other side of the ballroom)...he has replaced the sensor board, tested & reset the motor timing - and carried the motor through tech to be resealed!...all on Sunday at the indoor Champs!

Customer service second to none...

Thanks Again Wayne!

That's awesome! Wayne has always been on top of the service aspect of things. I always recommend TSR for not only the performance of the motors but, the fact that their customer care is the best.
