Since yall have taken over the smc motors...I bought a 5.5 lowrider from smc about 1.5-2 yrs ago. Finally started getting my mod car together and while trying to mount my fan the fan was cutting off so I had to use another motor. I was told a weaker rotor would help with that...do yall have weak rotors available?

dont look for a weaker rotor. Just move the fan away from the motor slightly.

Default SMC 21.5 Lowrider

Hey
21.5 Lowrider is awesome for my GT12 pan car.
I just got the motor a week or so ago and got to run some laps on our indoor carpet track. I am super happy with the performance.
the motor came with a very impressive spec sheet that John hooked me up with. Thank you sir !
37* timing and ran very cool. I bumped up the pinion a tooth and will try some more runs soon. We are getting the fast guys nervous now.
Thanks again.

34 to 38* on the motolyser works well with the 21.5 SMC..
how small of spur did you run? 68 or lower is a good size.

On a CK25 i have to run a 72 spur and i think crc 72 is the smallest spur they make. I dunno about other brands fitting because of the 2.5mm diff balls. Not room enough for much else larger. Pinion is 51 and going to 52 and
then see. Roll out is 95-97 common on our track. 43mm rear foams.

what's a good starting point for a TSR 17.5 3.0 in blinky dirt oval?

Depending on the size of the track, I would start at 4.3-4.5 check temps vs speed. If temps are low obviously gear up. Just a starting point, hope this helps. Chris S

Is there anything noticeably different about the current SMC 17.5's versus the originals Danny was selling?

Anyone know who makes a 68T spur that fits a CRC?
ETA: Found that Xenon makes a 68T spur that might/should fit.

Back home from the 2nd Dirt Oval World Championships. Was chasing car setup all weekend, but power was never in question wit the TSR/SMC lowrider 5.5 mod motor. Qualified 4th overall, and through steady laps an capitalizing on a couple miscues from the cars in front, managed to bring home the win! Ran the 5.5 and 8500 full size battery and had more than enough power! Thanks for the great products.
