The only thing that is the same from the V2 to the V3 are:
-rotors
-bearings
Everything else has been changed
New stator design
New can design
New timing assembly

I will be putting a new 21.5 v2 in my tc tomorrow. Finally... Any gearing and timing recommendations for a black carpet, small technical track (36x60)?

In USGT we run 44 to 46* and a 4.4/4.5 FDR on a 80x40 track.

If the timing is close to that, try a high 4.6 to low 4.7 to start and adjust from there.

Default Shortening (cutting) Rotor Shafts

Looking through the ROAR rules I was unable to confirm if it is allowed to cut/trim the rotor shaft on a spec motor. Anyone know for certain? What if cutting the shaft removes some of the manufactures labeling (such as the 4 bars on TSR's) - is it still legal?

I have had to take 2mm off the end of a rotor shaft once before...
All of the etching was still intact, nothing was said at the race
I'm not 100% sure what would be said if some of the etched writing was removed.
I can contact ROAR and get their input on this.

The info I have gotten is not cut or dry...lol...

There is no minimum length on the rotor shaft, but there are rules about "removing material" from a motor.

I think what it will come down to is if the tech person is a prick or not...lol...

The only problem you may have is if you are at a ROAR event.

Okay, thank you. It sounds like the rules are not intended to limit the racer in this regard so I'm not going to worry about... but I'll keep an eye out for pricks.

I am at the IIC for on-road this week. Is there a TS rep here? Thanks.

I don't think anyone is there for onroad.
John, the owner, will be headed over for offroad with a few guys.

Was there an issue with something or a question... I could try to help

Our WGT-R practice heat mistakenly went on for 7-8 minutes and we hit temps over 177F degrees. Motor seemed slow after that.

Have a fan on it now; but, driving with it pretty much full throttle.

It must have dropped the rotor strength a few points.
If you don't have a different rotor to put in, try dropping the timing 2*
Do you have a motolyser to check the numbers?
