I've been thinking of trying a Fantom motor. I run TC mod and was thinking of a 6.5. How do these motrs compare to the LRp X-12 or speed passion?

hey Adrian, fantom motors are really good motors. I ran their products for a while until i got sponsored, otherwise i wouldnt run anything else, anymore it seems that the duo base motors are the way to go in tc.

Fantom = number one IMO. Super fast, very smooth, and they run very cool. Not a widely known/used brand but definitely a competitor wherever it goes!

What motor are you going to run? I was thinking about tossing the 9.5 Ion 3 into my buggy..

mmmm I've heard good things about that speedo... I'm still using an older Orion/Ko vfs-1 esc.. It was on sale for 150

You were racing non timing for 17.5 stock correct? How was its torque/rpm compared to the other 17.5's you saw out there?

Yeah, mod class is dying out here at my favorite track so I guess I'll have to invest in two 17.5's for my Truck and Buggy.. If they are anything as cool and smooth as my 7.5 I'll definitely be more than happy

Also, if anyone here is selling a 17.5 pm me and we'll talk

Picked up a 17.5 Ion 3 motor for my T4. Anyone have any gearing ideas with timing? I checked out the fantom website but all of those were with timing and I am going without it. Using an Orion Vortex ESC (Ko Propo VFS-1 speed control).

Gearing advice for Ion 3 4.5 in a TC? I'm running on a 140' straight with med traction asphalt. Lrp SPX set at profile 1.
