21.5 apex v2 HT stator, 12.5ht rotor
rpm 8716 @5.0v
power 31w @5.2k
torque 78.8nmm

21.5 apex v2 rpm stator, 12.5rpm rotor
rpm 10273 @5.0v
power 34w @5.0k
torque 83.9nmm

Now taking the figures for face value it would seem that my RPM/RPM combo is far superior in that it makes more rpm, torque and power (or is power how much power it is consuming?) Based on those numbers am I right to assume that at the same gearing the RPM motor would outperform the torque one? Love to hear some explanation of the figures.

Thanks

I recently started looking into the ApexV2/IonV4 motors and I have the same questions as well. Have you had the chance to test both motors yet, and what were your results? Which car are you running the motors in?

I'm looking for the fastest possible combination for a 21.5T motor in a TC on a large outdoor asphalt track.

Would the following options be the best possible selection for my goal?

21.5T IonV4 Team Outlaw
+ teflon shims?
+ Extreme High Torque 13mm Rotor?
+ stock chrome bearings
+ aluminum timing ring? Is this just bling or a performance option?

An Ion or Apex motor?
What speed control do you have?

i run 0 on the endbell unless the track is high bite then i may go up to 3 or 4*. If i need more speed i normally will add 10* of boost but have it come in late so it really only effects top end.

are you guys running the motors around 160 deg? Im about to switch my rotors out back to the 12.3 stocker as i tried to run a 11.5 and it has hard on short run ups to clear jumps.

you have to change your gearing with the smaller rotors and they do not like timing at all.

Anybody have a solid starting point for the Ion5 (d4) for indoor carpet? Track is around 45x90. Timing, rotor, FDR?

4.3 at 55 assuming you have a 12.5 rotor

Are there any 12th scale/17.5 racers that can give me a little advice? I have 2 questions:

1: I have the Apexv2 HT stator. What rotor do you recommend for a small, med traction carpet track? I have the BB right now, but was thinking of switching to the 12.3mm HT

2:How much timing do you use? I'm currently at 45* but considering going to 55*

here's the numbers when I got the motor:
11,144 RPM @ 5.0V
45W @ 6K
Torque 95 cm

Yeah, 12.3HT OR 12.5HT. I know Fantom recommends 12.3HT but I like 12.5HT myself. Try rotor 1st and use your torque & leave timing at 45. Maybe 5more degrees on timing advance

Has anyone compared the two version of fantom batteries?
Normal race batteries to the cheaper priced competion series
