Anybody else running this motor in F1? If so, gearing suggestions

What size and style track? Is it really tight? or larger and more free flowing? With a light car like an F1, you have the potential to really shine by motor tuning.... high rpm stator and rotor might be the ticket on a larger track that carries more speed. (take everything I say about this with a grain of salt... i don't race F1)

Medium sized, I'll just add a couple teeth to what I geared Revtech. Yeah I tried a 12.3 hrpm rotor and car was to fast.
Thanks

D3.5 21.5 is fast in my F104V2. Ordered mine with a 12.5HT but would recommend a 12.3BB if you are running on a medium traction onroad surface. Since F 104 is so light plus medium traction, I was having a issue with back end getting loose on acceleration, put in a 12.3BB rotor and problem went away. If you have a high bite track or more skills the 12.5HT would be crazy fast.

Can you just post here what you are running? I ran a new apex2 HT stator / HT rotor last weekend, geared at 3.71 (TC), with 55 endbell timing. Motor seemed on par with my apex1, but I wasn't blowing anybodys doors off.

I'm really liking rpm stator with HT rotor in TC. Geared 46/100 @ 55 degrees timing. Car is a rocket out of the corners and just pulls down the straights.

I have a HT stator that I was going to test in buggy in a few days. Going to try the stock rotor and then a 12.3 HT rotor. Have probably the best D3.5 HT motor in the car right now to compare to so will see how much faster or slower it is.

Doug I had been running the ION 21.5 for most of last years EOS series with the HT rotor. great on the infield but i just could not get enough top end at Mikes (230'straight) Jones and his Reedy had about 2 cars on me 3/4 down the straight. I tried anywhere from 1.9-2.4 FDR and the results were the same, with the 1.9 i could pull but we run 15min mains so it would get really soft on the infield and i dont like that feeling. With the orange motor it was fast with the HS rotor but lacked infield tq. Last weekend i tried out the ION HS rotor with a modified endbell to allow full timing, with 2.35 FDR and 30* of timing it was really quick but it was a short track so it got a little to warm and tended to draw more amps so I backed the timing down to 20* and found the sweet spot! It actually sounds like a modified motor and you can hear the powerband! I plan on testing at Mikes saturday and will give feedback on how it feels on a big track, i think its going to be good. These new batteries are INSANE!! soooo much power!

Anyone have suggestions for 17.5 2wd buggy on carpet? New carpet track coming to houston in about a month!

New car for 2013 UF1 championship series. I dominated round one with TQ, fast lap, and winning all three mains!

4.2 FDR. Small carpet; 12 second laps. Don't know the actual size.

What size track and asphalt or carpet, the gearing you are at is where I started with the rpm stator

Medium sized outdoor asphalt track, ~100 foot straight. Some faster sweeping infield sections, with just a couple tighter corners. Motor was coming off at 160. i don't think I could of geared up at all without reaching some heat issues. 92/50 is what FDR in that car?
