Well I have been running Promatch Batts for many years now and still will but going to do some nitro racing this year and have never be down that road before...I know Promatch has some reciever packs what care and charging techs are recommended? Also what kind of "run time" does a 1000mh pack give?

Thanks

Jeff

I just got some new promatch packs and I am following all the charging instructions. However, I am a bit unsure about the traying section - do you reccomend to tray to 0.9v per cell or are you taking it down to 0 and then sticking it straight into the charger?

Also I have noticed after 5 uses that the peak temperature of the pack is getting higher and higher when charging- somewhere over 130F - It still peaks around 3900mah at 30mv - is this normal or should I drop the peak detect a little?

Ooj-1st Do not take them to 0 volts. .9 is the limit. Get a Pro Match Tray to be sure you are getting the most out of your packs.
2nd Drop the peak detect; 130 deg is pushing it.

Are you meaing 5 uses in one day? or you have only used the batteries 5 times since you got them?

thanks for the info promatchrcr

I have used the packs 5 times since I built them - not in the same day!!

Do you know why the the first few charges had a much lower peak temperature? Is this just a normal characteristic of a new pack?

Also how does putting them in tray right before charging help?

I would say the difference in temp would be normal. Just keep an eye on them and adjust the peak detect to keep them from overheating(they will settle after several runs). Using the tray will equalize the cells giving a better charge overall.

promatchrcr: How was your racing this weekend? Did you have a pretty good turnout?

It was ok, first race of the year so it was a small turnout. 10 Stock 3 Nitro...should much better next race. The layout is cool, not as fast paced as before. Very to run but beware of certain corners...they leave a nasty mark...Chill and I know all to well.
