Quick question...... OK maybe a log story leading up to the question... OK maybe more that 1 question....

My dog dropped one of my stick paks 3300- ( It's an Italian Greyhound thing ) that he stole from my pit bag and while he was running up the celler stairs he dropped it and it bounced a couple of times before I got it.

I checked it out and it looked OK but when I put in in my car and turned it on the end of the pak ( not the connector end ) started smoking... I mean a small cloud.. I quickly unplugged it and put it outside away from the house...

What is the best way to find out is the pak is now bad?
Any quick telltale signs to look for?
Take it apart and check the end?

Any advice will be most welcomed...

I think the first sign that the pack is probably bad is the smoke... You know all electronics run on smoke - that's what's in the wires. If you let the smoke out, it won't work any more until you get someone to put more smoke back in. -

My guess, and it's only a guess, is that at least that cell is gone - the other cells might still be OK. You could try to disassemble the pack and check each cell indiviually to verify this --- promatchrcr, what do you think?

I know it sounds kinda lame..... But the little bugger likes to take eye glasses, screw drivers, small tools like that when I put them down...

Yeah if it is smoking, that's a bad, bad, bad sign. You could check each cells voltage but by the time you pull it aprart, check them out,etc,etc....I would just replace it. Might want to get that dog a bone or something...LOL. Better yet just give him the battery,LOL. j/k

I have bought many batteries from you over the past year and am in need of some new ones.

I want the ib3800s, but is there any way I can get higher voltage rather than runtime. The previous ones all seem to be a mix.

Thanks

Andy

It's a Italian Grehound ( 13 inches tall, 12 pounds ) He just like to grab and run as a game. I checked out the PAK and it looked all right. The smoke came out of the bottom of the stick pac and it looks like it melted a little..
Tonight I'll take it the end off and really check it out....

Could it possibly have been a temporary short circuit caused by...dog spit? Is your Greyhound a wetmouth or a drymouth?
No, seriously. If the cell's not punctured, it's notlikely to be damaged...

I think it had more to do with the battery rolling down the stairs and hitting the concrete floor than the dogs mouth...

Guys if you do not receive a response as fast as you feel you should keep in mind Erika and the guys are VERY busy. She will answer your email as soon as she can. I would recommend calling her if you need a quicker response. Keep in mind they get ALOT of email daily.

Well, it looks like one of the batterys that hit the floor hard may have popped a hole next to the pole and that's what caused the problem....

Would shoo-goo fix this?
