The best thing is have them peak as close to race time as possible. If for some reason they sit longer than expected(race delay, charged to early, etc) then you can re-peak to warm them up and should be fine but the ideal thing is charge and race.

Post Battery temp.

I have heard opinions from both sides of the story but I was wondering if it is better to race with a cold/cool or warm battery?

Warm..... I don't think I have ever heard from anyone that has good results with a cold battery. The idea is to get the battery to peak as close to race time as possible so it is warm.

It will take 3 maybe 4 runs on the batteries to see the best results.

Buy 2 packs of the 6 cells. Ask them to make the numbers close and make three 4 cells packs.
