Hi Erika! How are things going at your new place? Yes, I'm still around After the TCS nationals, I kinda kept a low profile with not much going on in terms of racing every week, just practice on weekends. Ironically enough, I did club race this week and did okay, but it was a mellow night at Socal. The batteries are still pumping big power.

Neil, when are you going to be in town before your flight to Jland?

I'll be arriving the evening of the 16th of Nov at LAX. The team is departing the next day on the 17th. PM me if you are interested in doing something.

My plans changed. I won't be going to socali for two weeks in Dec. Uncle sam thought otherwise.

Default How to revive 3300 packs with short runtime

I bought four packs of 3300 (1.17+) last summer. The runtime was in the 400+ second when it was new. I've been doing the proper maintainence to keep the pack in good shape. However, the packs run time drop to 5+ mins (approx 330 seconds) after the pack were not used for this summer. I checked the charge/discharge time of individual cells. I see some of them are still pretty good in holding the charge. But some of cells voltage drop more gradually than others during charge/discharge.

With my Novak Millenium Pro charger, the packs finish the charge at 2800+mAH with 5A / 42mV threshold. I tray the pack to 0.9v / cell using the latest Novak smart discharger. It used to be 3300+mAH when the charge is complete.

My question is, do I need to rezap the cell to revive them?

Thanks

Zapping them won't give you any more runtime. The things you did it proper care. The same thing happened with my batteries. The voltage stays good but runtime drops. I think thats just how the GPs are.

Default Reviving cells

On your cells you are doing everything right
But you also need to tray the cells in The Promatch Smart tray 2
Do this after you discharge and let tehm stay in there for 24 hours Than try and charge them up. You should see a good increase in charge time and runtime too

What the pack is doing is something like this

You have 6 cells not working together Like a V6 engine witht he timing off
The Smart Tray 2 is an equilization tray Just like the distibuter on a real engine
If you use the tray it will make the cells work together and perform at there best.

What your packs are doing is 1 cell is peaking before the others. You can tell which one it is by the temp of it compared to the other cells. Your charger is detecting the Average volts so Maybe the other 5 cells aren't close to the same power and that is why your charger is saying it is done

I hope I didn't confuse to much
The jest is use the tray and equilize the pack and your time should come back
