RCtoyguy,

In B'ham or Madison I think you can get many of runs out of them before you need to worry about changing. Neil is right though, at the national level every little bit helps, so my question was related more to a large event rather than club type racing.

thanks for the help Neil...did you run a setup similar to what you used at the Reedy race? By the time the Norrca race rolls around next month I should have a chassis from Jason, so I'm hoping I can use your setup as good starting point for rubber tires.

That is kind of what I thought about the tires. I have a new set for the A-Train race that hasn't touched pavement yet, but I have been running OLD CS-27s until now. Actually, I have been running the same set all season, and they were used when I got them --- Just didn't want to be shooting myself in the foot!

Thanks!

The setup at the Reedy Race was completely different than the Nats. The track was less abrasive than Tamiya, so tire wear was alot better. However, there was more traction in Portland, than Tamiya so I had to change setup. I went to a softer car which allowed the car to roll better. My advise is if you haven't already driven at the track for the NORRCA nats, then don't change your setup until you get there.

I've driven there many times but never on rubber tires. On foams we run setups similar to what you would use on carpet. I think the abrasion and traction will be more similar to the Tamiya track than Portland so I'll probably lean a little more towards that direction.

thanks again

Promatchrcr- I won't be there tomorrow. I'm going to a motorcycle race this weekend. I think Lucky will be there if he has not changed his mind.
