Thanks JSP!! I figured someone would chime in with some info.

Which do u guys prefer the 30 or the 20 Amp dischargers? Does the 30a really hurt the packs all that much....?

30 amps for matching but only 20 for dumping packs after a race. For big races, I grade my packs @ 30 amps, a week in advance.

Do u suggest buying both the 30/20A dischargers? I was thinking of getting the Integy reacter discharger to dump my packs and then use the SmartTray from promatch to equalize the cells, A day before racing.

Both the Integy dischargers are fine but do not give you any data. I would suggest the 20 amp unit. As for when to use the Smart Tray, I would suggest the day after racing. You can leave it on the tray over night. Then remove the pack and let it rest. No further traying is required. I have done exhaustive testing and this works.

Thanks JSP, do you know the theory of why they do it like that?

You cannot take a direct measurement of resistance so they use Ohm's law in the form of ohms = voltage divided by amps. Then you substitute Delta voltage for voltage and delta amps for amps. You do the math and you have your internal resistance.

I would think just the 20amp discharger would do fine.
