Default Discharging: How important

I know it is tough to quantify but how important for stock class racing is it to

1. Charge at 5 or 6 amps not 4 amps.

and
2. discharging down to 5.4 volts before recharging.

Stock racing is all about power. 5 or 6 amps may not be enough.
