Thanks Todd, how about the preferred stock motor? Binary or Monster in 1/12th?

Yes, our Aero-1 1/12th Dodge is ROAR legal.

As of today, my remaining supply of these bodies has been exhausted. orders placed before this posting can be filled.

We just need to get Todd to pull some bodies in all of his spare time

Default Gearing Question

I just picked up a 7x2 Putnam Ti Based mod. My first time with the Ti Based motors....Just switched from the Cobalts. How should I gear the Ti in a Corally RDX compared to the Cobalt? Seems like the Ti has tons more Torque than the Cobalt. Was running a 9.39 final drive on the Cobalt 8x1 Round Wire with 55 mm foams. How much taller on the pinion should I try to exploit the extra rip of the Ti?

IMO the Ti is still the best motor ever made, combine it with a pair of CS brushes and its a weapon. I normally run 8's on a biggish track gear it at 24mm.

Muchmore Jesse has brushes on the way...

Glow: The Ti will have more torque and less rpm due to the fact that the brushes are narrower than a P94 brush. I would try adding one tooth and trial and error from there, if your going from one a 7 turn Cobalt to a 7 turn Ti. Based on your post, it appears you are going from an 8 turn Cobalt to a 7 trun Ti. In that case, leave the same pinion on it and start the trial and error process. Be sure to look at the timing from one to another and take that into consideration as well.
The CS brushes are similar to the LRP/Reedy 777 long wear compound.

Hey Todd

Could you please just clear up a little something for me. Bought a Binary 2 and a quad mag from SD racing before they went belly up but I think they are called something else on your web site? Which one is which? Can you just run through the differences betweeen the 5 types of stock you tune?

Cheers

Paul

A local track is running a mod 1/12th class only event, and it is all new to me. I am trying to find a 10-double for this event, and no one seems to have anything in stock. I don't want to run a 19T for this event, but it seems like it might be my ony choice unless I can find something else to run. I don't want to swtich motor brands now, especially for a new mod motor, but I'm running out of options.

Todd, can you direct me to a retailer that might have something usable in stock, or even give me a good idea on where I could start with a mod motor (wind, brushes, springs, rollout, etc.)? I haven't run a mod motor since I ran them in dirt oval about 10 years ago. I have really strong 3700s from Terry Brown, and the track is on the large size for an indoor caret track.
