highwayman- In comparison between the 4 and 2 magnet:

I found that the 4 magnet is more forgiving in both timing and gearing changes. They are about the same in power with the quad magnet being pulling harder near the top end. In contrast the 2 magnet pulls a bit harder on the bottom.
Use the low silver laydown brush with the recomended springs, gear down about 3 to 4 teeth from your normal motor with the same wind and stand back! You will also notice that not all motors are equal in timing or spring colors. This means that each motor has received special attention and no other motor brand can claim this.
Remember, you get what you pay for.

I have tried the Reedy KR but the motor ran hot, was nowhere near the speed and it drew alot of juice from my batts.

The Putnams efficiency is right out incredible! I have seen my 8 turn do over 7 min. with 3300 batts. One of the guys here ran for over 8 in practice!(He has better numbers on his batts, lol).

wow... that's pretty impressive!

just to clarify... "top gear down 3 to 4 teeth" with putnam motors?

highwayman- Yeah, I was blown away by the efficieancy with the power output.
3-4 teeth would be a ballpark depending on the size of the track, car efficiency, etc.

... woith regards the Kr, yep, it does run pretty hot, especially when you turn up the timing.

highwayman- The motors I'm talking about are the Kr nd Ti based motors.
Try to keep the timing in the 12 to 24 degree range.

What's a Pt motor?

What's a Pt motor?
Whats up Ramil,

The Pt is the Reedy Platnum. It is a quad magnet motor with standard brushes and com size. The magnets have a smaller gap too, so it's more like the epic binary can. I just picked up a Orion V2 Revolution 10x1 to try out. I'll let you know what I think after this weekend.

I'm interested to hear how that V2 motor does as well, the efficiency should be up there I'm guessing

Just got back from running my new V2, all I can say is it's fast! Went 6 min and it was overgeared about 2 teeth. Very smooth. I passed a car with a 8x2 no problem. I was running the motor as is out of the package with the enduro brushes and medium springs. Accelerated faster than my Kr, and seems to be much more efficeint. So when is Overgeared gonna have some putnam 19T motors? I'm kinda needing one really bad lol.

hey Sushi,

The new Putnam Chameleon based 19t are coming, we are all getting excited here as well especially with the Canadian TCS running 19t locked endbell in GT1, the motors should be awesome!

Yeah, it's the same way down here. Better for me too hahahaha. I'm getting killed at rain city with my 19T. I put my monster stock in it and I went faster lol. I need to grab some brushes too...

We just got our stock of Putnam Camillion2 based 19t motors in last week and am sending them out to fill orders.
Sushi boy, your package should arrive just before the new year or just after. Just remember, good things come to those who wait.
