Hey Guys - We just received a limited quantity of 13.5 and 17.5 Duo based motors. These won't last long, place your orders now!

Thanks - Brad

Is this the calm before the storm?

Was wondering if the Hurricane crew could help me with some suggestions for a Duo 17.5 motor. I will be running it with a Novak GTB in a touring car, so my ESC has no timing adjustments. Any recommendations for timing setting on the motor in that case? Does the motor's timing effect the gearing you need much? Thanks for the help! I haven't tried messing with motor time before.

Chuck....Start with the middle timing hole on the motor. The more timing you put in the motor means the less gear you need to run to get about the same results. So at the middle hole you would want to be in the 4.2 to 3.8 FDR range. In the max timing mark you would want to be in the 4.6 to 4.2 FDR range. In the low timing mark you would want to be in the 4.0 to 3.6 FDR range for sedan. More timing will also make the motor run hotter....keep the temp below 170.00 and everything will be good. Again these FDR's can change with the track size and temp that everything is coming off the track at but they can get you going in the right direction.

Congrats to Hurricane Motorsports at the reedy race. I talked to EJ Evans he said the Hurricane Boost motors were crazy fast, enough for a TQ and Win in 2 class

Yes Goop, that is correct. Hurricane Motorsports and EJ Evans took the 13.5 Sedan TQ and Victory as well as the 17.5 RCGT TQ and Victory. A huge congratulations and thank you goes out EJ on his dominating performance at the 2009 Reedy Race. EJ was running the Hurricane Boost 13.5 and the Hurricane Boost 17.5.

Thanks - Brad

Big thanks to Hurricane for getting me motors for the Reedy! I ran the same motor in all of practice, qualifying, and mains. Only time it came out of my car was during tech.

I first ran the Hurricane motor at the carpet nats and it was ballistic. I knew right away who I was calling for the Reedy and it paid off.
