im not sure about carpet but on asphalt the stock set up works great.you can even go a little softer due to the lighter weight.tim should be on here soon to help with that.poor guy has been working crazy hours and he has been pretty tired.

Ifeel very confident that it will work. I'm trying a few different things as far as setup goes as well. I know where to set it up at if my new setup is not working I will go to previous setup that I know will get me around the track pretty well.

Hi Everyone:

Joe:

I have posted my base setup for foams in stock and we will run the same setup in 19 turn. I an running the nitro rack in the bottom mounting holes. so far this has been a fast setup at Lansing.

about the only thing I am playing with is 70wt assoc in the front and 50wt assoc in the rear for oil. still testing this tho.
here is our base setup for our B.M.I. chasssis.

Springs: white
Oil: 60wt assoc
Pistons #2's
Caster blocks: 4* assoc/losi steeing knuckles
front block: F-0
shock mounting: lower outer hole on arm, middle hole on a rear shock tower mounted up front. (I cut off the outer most hole).
camber link: lower inner on shock tower.
Sway bar: either a .078 or a .062 up front (depending on bite).
Tires: Jaco double Pink/Orange or Purple/Orange.

Rear:

Springs: Purple or copper (depending on bite)
Oil: 50wt Assoc
Pistons: #2's
Rear toe in: either the "R" block with the R+2+0 or the "F" block with the R+3+0 block. (I shim up the "F" block with 2 motor washers per side).
Rear Hubs: Losi 0* hubs.
Camber link: upper inner hole on hte shock tower and the inner hole on the hub carrier.
Sway Bar: none
Tires: Jaco double pinks or purples.

Camber: 1.5* all around. (less up front if the tires are coning)
Batteries: forward.
Motor: either a Monster stock or a MVP
Tire size: 2.360 (new Jaco rims) 2.3 (old rims)
Elecronics: GT7 speedo, (#4setting) XXTra Rx, JR 8714 servo, and a personal transponder mounted on the servo.
Body: Losi Alfa. slammed or a Startus (old one).

Droop:

I am runnig 0 and +3 on my Tc3. I am using the Hudy droop block/gage. I will have to find a kit droop gage and post the readings here.

Jason:

yeah I'm still working those killer hours........... and my truck blew out a tire on the way home.............one thrashed rim, some minor body damage and a really cool hole in the snow where I had my off.. (running at 80+ when it let go) 4 hours later I'm just getting out of the snowbank/ditch and seeing what it really looks like.................I wanted a new truck anyways. I will call you later today (Sat)
hope to have Sunday off so I can run the Xray/Tamiya shocks. I still need some 6 degree alumium hubs for it. ( 3* feels a bit boaty in the turns even with the kickup in the middle hole).
I am running a different body to so that might be some of it. (Parma X20 MG).

Joe:

Where do you race at?????????
do you ever go to Lansing's track???????

Stephen Baker:

good luck.

RokleM:

I see why you had to do some grinding I only run the small Assoc ball cups on my TC3's never thought about the RPM ones. glad you like the nitro rack setup once you get used to it you'll be able to turn down your dual rate and still have the same amount of turn in.
right now Mini (my son) is down to 65% and is thinking about going lower.
(on the 3PK radio)

wyd:

Have fun with your new B.M.I. chassis... if you need to try my base setup. it works well on med to high bite tracks.

Well I'm off as everythings put back together so I can get home.

Thanks

Hi guys,

Is there any way to get hold of the BMI chassis in the UK. If so where, and how much is it (if anyone knows)?

Cheers

TimXLB I have a pretty good carpet setup I will try next weekend. Mike Dunighan emailed one that is dialed. I'm running asphalt this weekend with my BMI car and then next weekend I will run carpet and run the optional 3mm top deck. I bought all his TC3 stuff but the battery mount and I will order that when he gets bluw ones back in stock. A friend stopped over last nigt and was drooling on my car. He is like if you ever sell that car I want it.....period.

TimXLB,
Thanks for the response. It looks pretty close to my stock setup.
I cannot wait for those aluminum parts to get anodized...as soon as they are I am ordering my BMI kit!

I race at Larry's Performance RC's in Sterling Heights.

Thanks
Joe

The odds of someone who has one and wants to part with it are slim to none jay. If you want the best , it will be more than worth the wait i guarantee that.
