Default BMI TC4 Questions

I was thinking of buying a BMI kit for my TC4, i've been reading alot about a new motor mount. Will i have to buy this also?

I race my TC4 both indoors and outdoors, will i need to buy a different upper or lower plate for carpet?

Thanks,
Steve

no you will not need to buy the motor mount.this is for the people who want to run 64 pitch gears.i have been running my tc4 for months now in modified with an 8x2 and have not stript 1 spur gear.if you run 64 pitch gears,it only takes less than 1/16 inch twist to change the mesh between the spur and pinion which causes the problem.the one piece motor mount will keep them from loosing there correct angle.48 pitch does not get effected nearly as much.

Hey guys I would like to add some more to the stripped gear topic. Earlier this week I mentioned I had a real problem with stripping gears on Sat. My first thought was it was the first run with my new chassis so the chassis must be flexing. I was way WRONG!!! After taking apart my car for maint. I noticed that the input shaft going through the spur gear was badly worn where the bearing rides. This caused wobble of the spur which when combined with high bite and a spool would cause strain on the drive train and I was belching spurs. Put in a new input shaft and the drive train is dialed again. I really want that 1 piece spur adapter/input shaft but I can't find anyone who has it in stock.

Jason's kit is the real deal for any doubters.

PS I still want my motor mount

Here's pre-race pics of my last run with the BMI chassis at the upcoming indoor Onroad Sedan Challenge at the Coliseum in Frederick, MD.

Tim, how thick is that cf on your 05? By the pics, it looks about 4mm.

That's the xray 3mm chassis. I took it off and put the 2.5mm back on. I didn't notice a difference except for weight. I didn't get a BMI Chassis for the car or It would definately be on and the stock plates would be in the fire pit.
