Wink My car ready for the New Zealand Nationals

Hi Guys,

I thought I would post my brand new BMI TC3 before I take it out for it's first testing session. I am getting ready for our New Zealand Nationals which is in the 3rd weekend of January. I am racing in Modified and a class we call Super Touring which is basically modified with any body shell you want. We race on foam tires on an outdoor parking lot type track. It is very smooth and has a medium grip. We are not allowed to use any traction compound or additives. If any one has any setups for these types of conditions please let me know. I am going to be testing alot before the nationals and I am hoping for top 3 finishes.

Can you make a blue graphite shock tower for TC3 just like this one I found on ebay? Can you also blue anodize the metal? Here the picture::
Just in case you didn't know, that shock tower set-up you show in the photo is for the Nitro TC3, not the Electric car.

I use a Hardcore front tower on my BMI TC3:

Eventually I'd like to get Jason to build me an actual carbon tower, and I'll just use the alloy mount from hardcore unless he starts making his own.

I bought one of the front bumper braces from Jason. However, it seems that Trinity is now making their foam bumpers thinner than they used to. At least the balck ones are thinner than the blue ones. I think before they were about 1 3/8" thick and now they're about 1" thick. This leaves a 3/8" space between the bottom of my bumper brace and the top of the foam bumper. I could make some spacers but it looks kind of dumb with the gap between the bottom of the brace and the top of the bumper. Any ideas here?
Jason?

Thanks,
John

you can try spacers under the bumper to hold it against the brace.

Yeah.....I looked at spacing the top and/or the bottom but it just looks kind of goofy. Who is the guy that is/was making the foam bumpers you posted pics of?

Thanks,
John

hey guys...just wanted to say thanks to jay,..
i have been reading the warpspeed/bmi threads, and am impressed by both chassis...i've decided on getting the bmi, for sevral reasons..

i am a total noob to R/C ,so i think the layout of the car is more suited to me. and i REALLY like that center brace. oh one thing i forgot to ask...is that battery hold down included?(that thing is SWEETTTTT
got my FTTC3 a couple months ago, and been having a BLAST with it. (especialy after driving a tmaxx for a couple months this summer!!)
havent actually started racing, i need ALOT more practice.
anyway, after reading this thread i decided to email jason and ask about some things.
his response was very quick, answered all my ??'s , great service.
Jay, i WILL be ordering from you soon, just gotta fill up the date book with some work!! hehe
thanks
manny
