The IRS outdrives are neat and light but I don't like the pin cushion bit. Too fiddly and unreliable, so I use the outdrives in connection with Corally Assassin CVDs. They come with a plastic blade, so as long as you check the blades for wear and replace regularly the outdrives last for ever.

We run them on our cars with 7 turn motors and lots of grip, and we don't have too many problems.

We are presently doing quite a bit of testing with our 2 BMI TC4s. Very encouraging so far. I'm in contact with Jason about our findings and will pass on a set up as soon as we have a good one. However both cars are already running well below the present lap record for our track, so it's looking good.

Default Dave...

Speedtech sells them for $39.99 a set. So it's about $90 with shipping and tax.

Jason, Will you be making any front bumper braces for your TC3 chassis in black - also will the TC4 bumper brace work.

Default BMI vs Associated conversion

I have been reading alot about this BMI chassis and it sounds great. I have a TC4 Team kit and i will be looking to upgrade soon. I just don't know whether to get the BMI or the Associated conversion. I see negatives about the motor mounts for the BMI chassis. What is that all about. I just need pros and cons for both. Thanks.

The BMI chassis is great - no problem with the motor mount - it is an improvement over the AE one - also with racing electronics the BMI is under 50oz (foams)

Well only right now is the motor mount used on the BMI the stock Associated one. When he makes the new setup it would be safe to say it will be better than what others are going to make. Everything Jason makes is top of the line!!!!!!!!

WYD:

Hi,

I'll be sending your package out Monday. if you need anything else please let me know before then.

mo92:

Hi,

The B.M.I. TC4 Chassis is great (as DLM2005 said) during delvopment we ran a prototype on carpet.(foam tires) it took only slight changes from the B.M.I. TC3 chassis we were running to make it very competitive (3rd in the A main). you can use the current TC4 rack, the TC3 slide rack or the modded rack shown below in my sig. each has a different feel (more or less agressive steering).
the B.M.I. chassis is stiffer than the AE FTTC4 chassis and is cut from better graphite. and B.M.I customer service is great.

Thanks

TimXLB: I dont want to be a smart ass. Im actually waiting till the FT TC4 comes out to compare the BMI to the FT chassis.
But, how do you know that the BMI is stiffer and made from better graphite?????
The FT chassis isnt even out yet, and unless youve had one in your hands and actually driven it how do you know all your claims are true?

They already posted that the graphite is the same as they use on the L4 oval car. That being said BMI and all manufactures will know how good the graphite is and what type of graphite it is. It would be very easy to compare then plus you can look at the past grapithe cars they have made and it has been the same for as long as I can remember as I have or had alot of AE graphite cars.

All Im saying is that untill the FT is released, all the claims are just that, claims. I would just think itd be smarter to compare the actual consumer product than it is to make claims on what ppl think the car is going to be made of, or what has been used in the past....

Regaurdless of what I think right now, Im going to be waiting for Jason's full kit to come out to compare to the FT when it comes out. Apples to apples, ya know.
