Lem2-I am BMI team driver and I can definitely attest to the quality and functionality of the BMI line of products.

I used the very same .350 chassis you are inquiring about to Qualify 6th in the stock A-main at the ROAR On-Road nats and place 5th in the 19 turn class at the Norcca Nats.

The chassis improves the cars response..the car remains very flat around corners which in turn gives the car amazing corner speed.

You won't be dissapointed!!!!!

Michael Abraira

Tempest2000:

Hi,

are you running the 2mm top deck on asphalt???
please post more about your B.M.I. TC3 and what it's doing that you don't like. (i.e. rubber tires, shock oil, springs etc)

TeamButter:

Hi,

Are you going to the Cleveland race over Thanksgiving???

Thanks

Jason:

I'l call in the am.

Tim,

Yes I run the 2mm top deck. I even took out the center brace altogether to soften it up even more.

I run foam tires either purple/plaid or double pink/dbl. pink orange.

I run 50 up front and 35 oil in the rear.
Purple front springs and copper rear springs.
2mm up travel front and rear.
1.5 deg camber front and rear.
4 deg castor blocks
F-0 and F block
R and R-2-0 block (2 deg toe)

My problem is that the car just seems too rigid if the asphalt isn't smooth. Most of the tracks I race at have ok traction, but have a few large bumps. The stock tc3 takes the bumps better than the BMI, but the BMI handles better everywhere else on the track. On a smooth track the BMI is awesome.

I was just looking for another tuning option...

Thanks,

Michael

Default BMI 12th Scale

Hey all,

Wayne let me drive his 12th scale three times tonight. Each time with a little different set-up.

I dont know if he wanted durability testing-but it passed with flying colors!!

I was impressed to say the least. It useda little different driving style than I am used to but was unflappable. It carried a very high corner speed compared to my stock L4 and was so free in the corners. It also had a lot of exit steering and rotation-but was not loose at all.

This cars gonna be amazing. Pics dont do it justice. Jason and Wayne great job!!

Micheal:

Hi,

I would try running slightly more droop. along with a slight raise in the ride height. (.5mm all the way around.) also try propping the oil weights down a half weight. your running really close to our carpet setup for a low bite track. I'll post more tomorrrow when I'm more awake.

Thanks

Ray:

sounds like Wayne's car will be the one to have for 1/12th scale. Mini is hoping for more of them at our club's track is winter. I think he has gotten the bug again. so.......... any changes on the TC3???????? Minis asking. also if you want our high bite setup I'll e mail it to you.

Wayne:

Hi,

really nice design you came up with. I think you might remmember me. although it's been awhile since we talked. I was the tall guy with the beard that's with Chuck at Cleveland. Ray can help fill in any blanks (I hope).

Tim,

YAWWNN-its late and I am beat-but what I can tell you is I changed the entire car around and it felt faster, but edgy. I had too little front droop it turns out (1/2mm uptrave in front).

Also-I didnt open the shocks, but I believe they had too much rebound and maybe just a little too heavy of oil for our track (Ripples). Car was fast-but bouncing up and down at a high frequency causing it to feel a bit out of control. But the set-up itself was a good starting point. Adjust the droop and lighter shock oil with less rebound will get it close. And YES!!! I did have to turn down my servo speed. I have never had to do that-but the car would snap the wheels left and right so quick. I turrned it down 10%, but maybe a little more would be good.

We tore the track down at end of night-no racing here for a couple weeks. Do you want the car back yet?

THanks,
Ray

Tim,

Thanks for the suggestions... I'm heading off to Fernando's track in Kennesaw, GA this weekend for the last round of our Tri-State I'll try adding a little more droop and ride height.

Thanks,

Michael

Thank You Very Much!! The chassis kit only comes in a brownish grey color? (because of the special kind of CF?)

Lastly, The FK would drop down to the Xray Chassis with any other modification, and the placement of the servo is exactlythe same on the FK?

Thank you very Much for you time!!!!
