Guys - Ran my Xray BMI 350 chassis on Saturday on indoor asphalt. It absolutely rocks and the craftmanship is supurb! Car was very easy to drive and very predictable. Need a little more work with the setup, but it's dialed! Took 4th in the A main.

Thanks Jason for such a great product!

John

What type of reactition causes it to smoke? Thats wierd. Is it visible? Has anyone else experienced this?

i think its the dust from the c/f and the fums from the ca that cause a chemical reaction, but im not 100% sure

The cotton que tip reacts with the Cyano Acrylates and the Carbon fiber and causes a reaction, I am not exactly sure why, but I know its bad for your eyes and lungs.

I've also had smoke come off of the edges of the plate after I had spent time sanding it. It's quite hot to the touch too.

Default CA !!

hey guy's .. just prep the chassis in water then instead of a Q-tip.. apply CA to the chassis edge and let it flow as you hold on to the chassis and rotating around and adding more CA as you go.. you'll get a much cleaner finish and wont have that rough edge look from the Q-tip !!!......

Here's a good article on how to prep CF. It takes time but when done right it LOOKS GOOD!

Default Setup Request

BMI TC3 Mod with foams on smooth asphalt (medium size track). The motor is a 12x2 Orion Revolution. A suggestion on a complete car setup would be great. Also a suggestion of a starting roolut would be nice.

Thank you,
John

That doesn't necessarily work if the edges of the plate are rounded. In fact I know it doesn't work. All I got was spill over and my thumb stuck!

Neil,
That's a security measure...if your car is ever stolen, someone can just look for your thumbprint and match it up
