Well Ray you are running a chassis Bill helped design and running diffs that I built for you. I would say you probably owe both of us when we come up for the race in october!

Hmmm, I wonder if it could be a bump steer adjustment, as well as length. By adding an extension to the top or bottom of the steering knuckle, you are changing the geometry of the steering, effectively raising or lowering the outer pivot point. By doing that, you increase or decrease bump steer. In a turn, that can give you more or take away steering.

Later,
Hey-you know I think you guys are the best!! The Gate crew is starting to turn the gears on the 2004 Halloween Classic. Theres some schedule snafoos because of the Worlds in Kissimee which will draw the attention of a lot of Proffesional drivers. But-hey-they got to get on the rug sometime to prepare for the US Indoor Champ.

But remember-that was just one race-maybe next week I suck again!!! But it did feel great to be faster than our best for one night of my life!!

YOu are 100% right about that!! I havent "looked" to see if it enduces any bump steer, but it pretty much has to as its like raising it 3mm!! I oculd make top and bottom plates too and capture the link like a heim joint in a shear plate too.

Wannabee-Heres a pic of the original plate I made from a shock tower. but the holes dont line-up-which defeats the purpose. To keep it in place i had to dremel a notch in the second hole and I also had to CA it on the arm. Sinces the steering knuckles are old and the plates were a little hacked-I didnt worry about CA'ng them on.

HEres a pic of the ones I made from some graphite sheet I had here at work. Again-not pretty, but functional. Theres a strange optical illusion that makes all of the holes look off-but they are inline and spaced properly. A little time with dremel and they will look good!!

I finally got to race the xray 350 chassis and wow what a difference! The car felt even easier to drive than it was before! I think that for the money these chassis kits are well worth every penny spent. To bad it rained and the race was canceled .

Thanks Jason,

Zach

Did you here what happened to RPM?

What happened to RPM?

Also-Jason-How goes it? I thin I have found my sedan for the 2004/05 seasn. The BMI 350 XRay is the best sedan I have ever driven-period. by best I mean fastest as well as easiest to drive.

Thanks,
Ray
