When I run plaids on the asphalt my car is pretty inconsistant. Plainds for me work better on carpet.

Well the Plaids worked for me cause they kept the car from spinning out while the car was skipping around the corner. If I come up with a setup to stop it I will post it in case someone else has the problem.

Try the double purple fronts. They are less aggressive than plaids are. If your car is pretty aggressive try running your front and rear shocks laid over into the inner most hole on the shock towers. That always made my car steer smoother and help the rear to rotate smoother in the corners. Could also try a little thicker shockoil. Really sounds like your car is opver steering in the corners.

My car use to work with running purples front and rear of the car but our inddor asphalt track starting changing alot of the last year or so and my car was way too agressive. I tried the dunble purple fronts and that stopped it. I just had to use a tad more steering and changed my setup just a little but overall the car was alot easier to drive and every bit as fast.

Default Asphalt Set-up

Hi guys!

What's a good starting set-up on BMI Xray on low grip asphalt track?

Thanks!

I have alot of experience with the BMI TC3 on foams on ashfelt in modified. I have won numerous races and championships with the following setup.

30 or 35shore hardness tires front and rear, 26mm wide.
40wt oil rear, # 2 pistons,springs to suit track (red /copper/silver)
50wt oil front, # 2 pistons, springs to suit track (red /copper/silver)
Wheelbase mid
Shock tops, mid position
Shock bottoms, wide position
Camber 1.5 degrees all round
Losi 6 degree front caster blocks/hubs
ride height 5mm all round

Thats about all I can remember off the top of my head. The most important part is the 6 degree caster blocks or you cannot get around fast sweeping corners with enough speed.
Also if you can use the 30 shore tires (rear 30's for the rear and front 30's for the front) then you will hold more speed over the course of your run than the harder tires that everyone seems to have talked about so far. This is not carpet, you need softer tires.

This is a set up for untreated ashfelt.

If you need to know more then get back to me.

Thanks for the setup. One of the tracks I race on is treated and one is not. What about droop and camber links?
