With that style of motor mount, where you need to go through the rear suspension to get to the screws, you'll want to get a ball hex head and use deep steel cap screws. Aluminum buttons or even steel buttons will strip out over time, especially with a non-ball hex head. I'm not sure about the BMI motor mount (I own a barracuda though) the motor mounts don't line up well with the access to them, you need to skew the tool, which will strip the head if you are not careful.

But then, i'm talking out my @ss since I don't own a BMI TC3. So I'll shut up right now.

BTW, i got used to torque steer after a few laps and never thought about it after than on my old tc3. Since all the left hand and right hand corners are different anyway, the line and throttle is different. Xrays are just buttery smooth to drive - not nessicary faster or slower then a tc3. Driver skill matters so much more.

Oh yeah, my xray chassis is in the mail! Can't wait!

Thanks Jason. It is not a problem. Man I can't wait to run my Damn car again. One week and I can race again. Finally I'm free from any work on my weekends.

when i designed the motor mount i was trying to get away from the cam set up.i hated it.the way i designed it was for when you loosen your motor screws it would simply slide out without having to completely remove them.it is very easy to access the srews and i have never stipped any screws.main result is easy, more fine mesh adjustments and more solid mounting.no need for a bunch of pieces just to put your motor in the car.it is a little wierd getting used to but when you do,you will see what i mean.

I can see that-leave the screws backed out and in the motor when rebuilding, no cam to put on AND new screws to fall onto the foor when you need to get your motor in on a one minute grace!!!

Good thinkin!!

Now if Xray would relieve its bukheads at the motor mount so you could put an 0-ring on the motor screws-they wouldnt fall out either!!

ray, dont let all your thoughts go,that could be a real nice aftermarket product for you to make.sounds like a good idea to me.have the bulkhead threaded and cut a relief on the screw so when it gets close to tight it spins freely in the bulkhead and locks in the motor.i bet your gears are turning now

Ok cheers.

Bought an X-Ray last year, but after poor qualifying in a winter series I've been doing I went back to my TC3 and qualified 7th in the A final out of about 60 drivers. Best I'd done with the X-ray was 4th in the B, so I cant wait to try this new chassis out, if it improves the TC3 as much as you guys say it does then I might get a trophy.
