Some people consider stick packs normal... ;-)

Default Stick packs

Yes, there are several poeple that run them at our club track. I didn't mean to come off as if I was putting them down. Just making a suggestion to get your batteries to fit well in your chassis. Sorry if I offended.

Oh, I wasn't offended at all! Just amused at the variety of normal. ;-)

I appreciate all your suggestions, but I don't think I want to drill my nice new chassis - I'm sure I'd screw it up. Do you think there'd be anyway to use strapping tape? Sigh, maybe I just need to get those batteries sooner than I thought...

Default Strapping tape.

Yes, it would work. (however being a little bit of a hassle) you may have to cut your tape in 1/2 in order to fit it through the slots.
It's amazing how expensive this sport is. Seems somewhat bottomless at times. Getting the sidebyside packs will also let the batteries sit lower in the chassis giving it better cornering (due to lower C of G) <Center of Gravity> There are a number of matchers that are on these forums that have good products for fair $$. I've used both promatch and fusion. They have both been worth the $$.

Jayhendo:

YGM.

Batteries.......

Pro Match, Fukuyama, Hurricane, Bones Motor Sports, KMR batteries are all good. Mini runs for BMS, we arn KMR cells when ours were "borrowed" at a big race. I have run Pro Match cells with great sucess and Fukuyama cells were really fast at Cleveland (I have yet to try a pack tho) fusion cells looked good also but again I have never ran them.

zgeist:

I haven't tired to put a stick pack into a sedan yet.......I'll have to pick one up and play with this.drilling holes for standoffs shouldn't be too hard. taping will work. I usally tape in the packs in the test chassis I have (tub chassis) and have talked to Jason about making this an option on both chassis.
I would like some opinions posted about this.

Thanks

And since I have several of the plastic stock battery hold-downs I could even leave them taped!

I'm excited - I think this could work.

Jason can or do you make a front body mount brace from 3mm graphite. My nice cool blue thinner version got destroyed tonight in about 3 pieces. I need to order a new one.
