Nexus,

Thanks!

I was running a FTTC3 with a milled chassis and a top deck by Warpspeed Racing. Batteries are lowered and moved in drastically.

Kevin had a great car this weekend. By far the most dialed Losi in the building. I have been racing against Kevin for a few years now... Great guy!

Default night pits

this kinda reminds me of the 24 hour racings in Japan. Except it's 1/2 geussing where you just dropped that one and only e-clip.

It was over by 9:30 or so, but it got dark very early because of smoke in the sky.

Default 3 or 4 charges in a day ??

Hi Dan,

Can you tell if there is any bad effect if we run the batt more than 2 times a day ??

So far the experience we had, the batt perform best in the 2nd run. How about 3rd time ?? or 4th time ?? Any harm to the cells if we do that ?? Why ??

Assume the batt pack is cool down by fan for 1 1/2 hrs before charge.

Thanks Advise

Anthony,

Here is what I have found.

1. Life of battery will be shortened.
2. 2nd run is best.
3. Loss of run time each run.
4. 3 charges is "probably" okay, but I would not run the same pack 4 times in one day. Make sure you are allowing at least the 1 1/2 hour in between charges. I like to wait even longer.

I would also not charge the pack very hard if I were going to run it that many times. I charge from 6 to 7 amps with a .04 cut off. If I were going to run the battery more than 2 times I would probably charge at 5 amps with a .03.

Dan will be able to help a little more, but that is what I have found in my experimenting.

Dan/Jimmy! Any thoughts on this one???

Hey guys - thanks for all the kind words.. What great race results! I wish I was there to see it all go down. It seemed like all kinds of fun!

A special congratz to team mate Rob Love...great driving, we'll have to get together soon!

Dan and Jimmy, thanks for your continued support and words of encouragement...im only good cause of you guys. I'll give you guys a call.

My real car will be fixed, luckily the airbags did not go off. It wont be totaled, I only estimate 9-11K worth of damage. I'm feeling fine and back at work today.

Alvin - glad you like your Fukuyama Cells! I'll see you on sunday at the ORL for some serious racing!

Hi all,

Attached is a chareg vs Time curve from a 3000mAH pack charged at 4A. The charger FALSED PEAKED twice. I had to reset the charger in both cases. Reset = "press the fast charge" button.

2 things could possibly be causing this.
1) The charger see's a dv/dt = 0 and think its fully charged. I actually was watching the voltmeter and the 10mv digit was moving around +/- 50mV.

2) The charger see's a dv/dt =0 but it also see's a low pack voltage and may shutdown due to being "FULLY CHARGED" this is firmware and may be the case.

Can we add external components to help eliminate the FALSE PEAK? Will it ever detect a full charge then?

Thanks for the hints
