Default When using twice a day...

which is better:

To not discharge or to discharge completely at 20 amps, between first and second use?

I'm racing stock, so at races, theres 1200-1500 mAh's left in my Fuk GP3300 after each heat... (I'm aware that a cool down is needed).

PS: I'm quite sure this question is asked before, but I couldnt find it again.

Okay. But what's your reasons do doing this? Wouldnt it put less stress on the cells, if they aint discharged inbetween?

You don't want to start charging a half full pack. It's not good on the cells. NiMH cells don't build up a memory as quick as a NiCD but they still can. Always discharge the cells and equalize them before you charge again. Plus, cells like to be cycled the same way over and over. You need to be consistant in the way you treat the cells.

Default waking up old cells

Hi, long time no chat Dan

After not racing all winter I'm going to be trying to do a few outdoor races this summer but not enough to warrent buying new cells.

I've got my old good race packs that have been sitting doing nothing since October and I'm wondering if there's any preffered method of waking them up. They were left with a little charge in them at the most a third.
I have a Pro-Trak charger with temperature tray so I'm currently thinking I'll charge them normaly, using the temp tray to peak them at 40degrees. This should get past a load of false peaking from doing a normal peak detect charge.

I also have three packs of Fuku's unbuilt, they're about a year old now and never been touched. They used to be low to mid spec, looking at current cells fo sale they're simply low spec now
Should these be ok if I just build and charge them as normal? They'll be used for practise packs, maybe racing packs if my others have degraded badly.

I havent tried waking up cells stored that long, but I would start with equalizing (or taying, if that's what you prefer), to ensure that all cells in the pack start from the same point.

Not that I know for sure, but I believe that some chemical reaction is happening during storage, thus they might differ some. Besides, I dont think an EQ will hurt anyway
