John, Matt, Raceblast

My friend of mine here said his rayspeed does click continously when he toggles from equalizing to conditioning. I'll have him send it back to yokomo.....other than that he LOVES this thing.

Thanks all. I will send my rayspeed tray back to yokomo. I suspect it is defective.

was he using the power cord? If you don't use the power cord when you go to conditioning then the unit doesn't get enough power from the pack to work correctly and will click like that. Whenever you use condition mode or discharge 4 cell packs you need to connect it to a powersupply

IR is Internal Resistance of the cells. The lower the IR, the less resistance the cell has which equals more punch from the cell.

DT5000 is Discharge Time on the turbo matcher, 5000 seconds to be exact. 5000 seconds is a industry standard for matching cells. Don't be fooled with DT's of like 200 seconds where they cut the matching off at that point (200 seconds) to elevate discharge voltage numbers. DV is .90 volts. Within the 5000 seconds the voltage will get to .90 volts of the cell and the matcher will read the average discharge voltage.

Newer GP3300 cells will be around the 420 seconds @ 1.179 with an IR around 14-16. If you get these newer cells then you will really see a difference between ones matched even a year ago.

Hope this answers some of your questions.

John
Internal resistance is the batteries ability to deliver the voltage. The less resistance the faster the voltage can be delivered. Resulting in a battery with a more punchy feel. Low IR is a "GOOD THING".

Low IR IMO is the most overlooked reading on the cell. It does make a big difference on how the pack will perform and I've noticed that packs with lower IR seem to last longer before they start to turn into "practice" packs.

Does Fukuyama have any matched cells that have IRs around 2.5?

BTW, does Fukuyama have any 4 matched cell pack for 1/12 in the market? I just don't want to waste the extra 2 cells for 1/12.

For your first question, raceblast, it's hard o compare, as FukuyamasIR isn't measured in the same way as SMC's, for example(that's why you'll see IR for Fuku's in the low teens & for SMC's & a few others in the 2-3 range), it's just too difficult to compare directly. As for your other question, yes, they sell 4-cell packs, just have a look at the website(www.fukuyamaracing.com ), & you'll find all of the products they sell(& you can order them straight from the site).....

I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving and good luck to all the Fukuyama racers attending the race at Cleveland.

Matt,

Sorry it took so long to reply, but I spoke to him yesterday and he told me that he has always hooked his rayspeed up to a power supply. He always runs 6 cell. He told me its the second cell on the side of where the fan is. It said it flickers continously but just that cell. I told him to send it in......I'll let you know.

Hey Guys,
I had time to jump on a computer here at the hotel. I am running very strong and had a horrible heat for qualifying. I had been on 3rd or better pace each race before backmarkers had hacked me. We are getting resorted and I should be in good shape tomorrow.
