I've done both - taking NiMH's down to 0.0v and using a cutoff of .9v per cell, and I prefer the performance of the cells when they've stopped discharging at .9v. They seem to stay "peppy" longer.

I'm using the Novak tray and love it. Well worth the money, and the prices seem to have come down a bit since the initial hype has died down a bit.

Eventhough I have a Rayspeed already, I keep looking at the Novak trays in friends pits. They're just so cool looking.

Default Equalizer cut off voltage

I've just finished the cycling of a Fukuyama pack.

I've followed the Fukuyama recommendations about maintenance, and I must say it works.

The pack is 1.160-1.164 six cell. It was bought 31. march.

After 3 times raced in the car, I cycled it to get some data. Here they are:

3.972 mAH charge, 3.185 disc.
Average voltage: 6,944.
IR: 32 mOhm.

12 times raced in the car, and the 1 above cycle (13 total), the data looks like this:

4.018 mAH charge, 3.119 disc.
Average voltage: 7,082.
IR: 29 mOhm.

I always charge them at 6 amps.

I'm using an Eagle CDC v 6 charger and a Robitronic equalizer with 0,8 volt cut off and 1 amp discharge rate.

One difference between the two cycles though: Environment temperature at first cycle, was 21 deg. C (70F), at the second it was 26 (79F). Thus the delta cut off at first was 8 mV pr. cell, now 3 to keep the final temperature reasonably (60 deg C/140F).

If this affect the data, I dont know.

SoCal the area or the track? I hate that friggin track. It's actually a very nice track and a great place to race. I just have the worst luck there. I haven't been there in probably 4 months and don't really plan on heading there anytime soon. I'm more of an outdoors racer.

awe shux! For those who don't know, 4Fun Hobbies is a new place out in the desert and they have one of the best tracks I've ever seen. My first trip there, one dot kept getting me and both heats and the main ended with me hitting the SAME board on the sweeper. This is what Scott did later that week.

NO! I don't need to leave anything else on that wall. John Gaul has a bullseye on the other side of the track too. I was picking wood and paint out of the wheel nuts.

Don't be sorry, I'm proud of that wall! It cost me $40 in parts to get my name up there.
