We don't race dynos. Thats what I've always been told. I've got a lot of motors from a place where the dyno sheet said the motor was scary fast, but it was a dog. I've also seen ones that were suppose to just be awful but flew around the track.

Correct, while dynos can be very handy tools to work with(that's why mine goes to the track with me every time I race, ), David's right, we do race cars, not dynos. As long as the guys doing the tuning know what they're doing & how to use the dyno numbers, then they can be sure to turn out worthy motors. And from what I've seen so far, everything Fukuyama sells meets their own personal standards, they don't sell stuff they wouldn't use themselves, so if they believe in a new motor, then that's good enough for me, whether it has a little dyno sheet or not. And if one really wants numbers, they can always find someone at their local track that has access to a dyno, to help them get an idea of what it'll do & how to gear it.....

Something else to think about. Think of bigger companies and how many motors they turn out. Now think of the time it would take to hand tune every one of those motors. Bottom line, go with what you like and what you know works best.

racenut:

You had to go out there and buy those 1.182s. How fast do you want to go anyway? Lightspeed? Now I have an excuse to why you beat me.

Now if I can get some 1.19s...

Stick with Fukuyama. They are sure to keep you fast. What else matters? The only left is for "YOU" to drive the wheels off of it

As for the dyno labels. They are nice to have, but nothing beats on track performance. Personally I gear more off of amp draw than anything...... Running on carpet with foams gearing is extremely crucial. Tire sizes change so the pinion changes.....

Ok, ordered 4 packs of 1.17's, so looking forward to recieve and try them out . They better be good since they just cost me 2400 danish kroner which equals 380 dollars.
Danish dealer wont get them home until 25 May though... . Any chance that could be spead up a little? I do have some races in the next weeks, so could really use them
