Are you sure its 300mph???
Even the fastest car on earth cant make it that fast.
For example
Formula 1 = 360 kmh plus minus
McLaren F1 On Road = 410 kmh plus minus
Just to share some info here

Those are just race car examples, there are speed record cars out there that have broken the sound barrier.

Yeap. Powered by a JET ENGINE.
But OVA was refering to a RC car.
Does he mean on a scale of 1/10 300MPH??
I doubt an RC car can go that fast.

Top fuel dragsters aren't jet powered and if you're not doing 320mph or faster, you're not even making it out of the first round. I agree that there's no RC Car that could ever do that but there are cars (not jet propelled) that hit 300mph easily.

But braking the sound barrier with a dragster?

I know how fast a dragster can be.

No, the sound barrier car on the dry lake beds was jet powered. I was just showing that the statement "Even the fastest car on earth cant make it that fast." wasen't exactly accurate.

Ok. Case close.
Lets get back and enjoy our RC life.

I cant afford a dragster/F1/jet engine car or etc to go that fast.

Guys,

The speed record was limited due to the tires exploding. They couldn't sustain the speeds of 100mph+. Ask Cliff Lett.
If this is the case for the electric record, why would a gas car go faster? Do they have supertires wich can't be made for electric? Get real!

AdR|aN - glad you got the 1.17's finally and you like them. I told you they would be killer. I can't wait to see how I do in mod compared to speed with my nitro.

John

But I do still hope to be able to make it back to next year's Novak race, as long as I can arrange to have enough days off(& just as an FYI, my new job is as a tech support rep. in a Sprint Call Center, so I've been learning the ins & outs of the cell phone business, & now have my first phone by Sprint). Fortunately, I finished paying off all my old debts before I was fired, so the financial transition has been pretty painless(& I even picked up the XRay M-18 micro car in the meantime, GREAT little car), & I'll be looking at getting a new big car VERY soon, so things are looking up in general.....
Wow Bob, that's definately some news there, sorry to hear about that. Hopefully I'll be over for the Invitational race again this year. I also used to work in a call center but for an ISP so answer them calls within your time limit, our time limit was 6 minutes and you always loved it when it took 30 minutes to explain how to reset a modem or 15 minutes navigating them to the control panel-damn that was a pain in the ass!

Yeah, I know what you mean, I've already taken a number of calls this week, & one I had at the end of the day yesterday was more than a little frustrating. It was some guy who just bought a Handspring Treo 600(PDA) & had been messing with its settings, possibly including the provisioning settings(the info & settings that allow the device to connect & communicate with Sprint's servers & get it running on the network) to where we had no odea what he'd done to his username & passwords, or any other settings, & trying to guide him through manual programming didn't help at all(this guy was just plain DENSE). In the end, my mentor & I both told the guy he'd be best off to take it to the Sprint store & have one of their people do it for him so it'd be done right(& this took over 45 minutes to finish, by which time we'd been about a half hour into overtime). But since I'm a trainee, I think they'll be a bit more forgiving of the tech I was shadowing, & in the long run, it seems they're most interested in us remembering to try to offer new add-on services to their accounts, they LOVE those sales.....
