Hi. I'm not sure if it's been brought up in older posts but I had a question about the motor timing. The brand "N" I have been running, says on their website, has a factory set 30 degrees of timing. The sticker is labeled and motor set at the "n" postion (30 degrees) and you can go + or - from there. On the Murffdogg motors it is pre set from you at 0 on the can. Is that zero timing and you can advance it up to the marked 25 degrees or is that something similiar to the 30 degree starting point that Novak (oops) uses. I basically just want to know what I am advancing the timing to on your motors.

We have timing built into the sensor board. We do not disclose that timing number, due to racers with the silly belief that there is a magic maximum timing number that makes the most power.
Some racers think that a total of 95 degrees "TOTAL TIMING" equals maximum power. This is a highly inaccurate myth. For example, I had a PM from a racer just a few days ago... His setup:
Ballistic 17.5 at 45 degrees timing.
Tekin RS at 45 timing boost and 5 turbo boost.
This is "95 degrees total timing". His local track has a fast guy who told him that no matter the brand, 95 degrees is the absolute fastest timing setup. THIS IS VERY INACCURATE.
We suggest that you run 4 degrees of timing for non boosted classes, and NEVER more than 8 degrees on flowing high speed tracks.
For boosted classes, we run -5 to 0 degrees of motor timing, depending on the wind.
I do not EVER suggest more than 8 degrees of timing for non-boosted classes, or above 0 degrees of timing for boosted classes.
