I hope that is what it is...I like running Reedy motors, but the 17.5 are not as strong as some of the newer ones that have been released in the last 6 months.

When running modified motors, what difference in feel is there between the 12.5 mod rotor and the 12.5 spec rotors?

Looking for gearing suggestions. I run reedy 17.5 & 21.5 SS versions with the 12.5 torque rotor in my TC6.2's.

I am currently at a 4.0 fdr for 17.5 and 3.69 for 21.5 and motors come off at 105-110F with a fan. Both are running 48 timing. Maybe I should try going down a tooth as our track is pretty tight with a short straight and I would be faster out of the corners / turns.

To give some context, I am one of the slower racers (about 0.7 seconds behind on fast lap time) but I won the B-main last race because I really didn't make any mistakes... fast lap 8.62 and top 20 8.76.

Here is a pic of our indoor carpet track. Thanks!

the old motor is fast enough i heard .....no need for a M4 spec motor lmao...
think reedy needs a motor tester/designer to develop a motor for this era ...
but ha, its it simple for us this is just one more motor i dont have to worry about testing ...

So we tried dropping the timing to 35 and gearing to a 4.08 (96/47) in TC and a 4.0 (96/48) in USGT. It was noticeably sluggish and slow !

Guess we'll keep going the other way and watch the temps!

We need to up to a 53 or 54 pinion for USGT with the 96t spur. Is that crazy high where we should start to look at reducing our spur size? The manual shows it will fit fine though.

You guys are still atempting to get a 3yr old motor to work competitively ??
I lve even noticed team guys at big races running other motors . sad. They need a real motor developer.

Reedy M3 motors are not built right at the new Roar limit, so their resistance is too high to compete today, except their Roar legal 25.5t motors that can sometimes go below the 101mohms Roar limit....
