Default Reedy Race

Rick H,

Nice job at the Reedy race, very tough competition and such a short time with the production car. What motor setup did you end up running? Gearing?

Do you remember how Joe was setting up the 19t spec motors, I'm sure you guys used your new brushes but what about springs and gearing.

Finally, will be posting your TC5 setup anywhere soon?

Thanks,
Steve Curry

This weekend at Reedy I ran the Orion Q-brush. Silver on the neg and purple on the Pos. I geared the motor at 5.49. I played a little with it at 5.6 but didn't like the feel. For me, the Orion bush was the ticket.

Rick - Stormer has the following Q Pro brush. PArt number is similar but not identical.
PEK22001 Peak Performance Q Pro Laydown Brush w/ eyelet

Is it different or there's a typo somewhere?

Your favorite retailer should be able to get these through their distributor or if they have an account, directly from Peak. You can also buy them at shoppeakracing.com or by calling us directly.

In case the Peak branded version is hard to come by, the Orion ORI41225 Katana Laydown Brushes w/eyelet is the same brush.

We have not done much stock testing with the brush, but it originated as a 23-turn stock motor brush for the Japanese market. From what I understand, it is very popular in 23 turn motors so I imagine it will be as good in stock motors as it is in the others.

It should run a bit cooler. We have done very little temperature testing. As long as you are within the suggested gear ratio range, you should have no temperature problems.

It is a typo on their part. That is the correct brush.

Thanks! I ran a 3.5 with 5 cells geared 7.8:1. Corey's car was very fast so his set-up shown is a great choice. Joe was setting up other motors with the stock springs tweaked to 180 degrees.

Reedy Race setups for all drivers should be posted on the AE website now.

Rick...Peak/Orion peeps.

Can I use this charger with the Carbon and/or Power - Platinum Edition Lipos? The helicopter crowd I know say that is one of the best Lipo balancer/chargers they know of so I'm interested in using it.
